If we go with traditional rapping styles, who would you put as the new big 3?

The Drake, Kendrick, and Cole breeds that can actually rap are dying. And if they're not, they're definitely not making it to the mainstream anymore.

    Earl
    Tyler

Veeze and Lucki would definitely be the ones from the mainstream who drop nice bars every now and then. Maybe Ray too. Ngl their subject matter and the fact that Wayne Ross Hov etc already did the flex talk much better makes those picks kinda iffy but they’d be the closest in the “mainstream”

Im not gonna pretend to know their attendances and dont care to look them up but i think theyre of the same stature, what travis has over him in terms of being more “mainstream”, i think tyler has more of a rich lore/story and respect as an artist and anyone who knows travis knows tyler lol, he got converse like travis got jordan brand. And whatever else you could say It aint farfetched that theyd give tyler a mcdonalds meal or a fortnite/playstation collab if he doing s*** like Grinch and whatever else

He wins by default for having some upholding of the early 2010’s rap standard

Respect to all 3 but they're OG status at this point which means that they, by definition, can't be a modern Big 3.

Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones still put out music but they ain't running modern Rock.

I feel like the 2000s had an early 2000s big 3 and a late 2000s big 3 and Ye was in the late 2000s big 3 alongside Wayne

    Yup.

I'd say Ye, Wayne, and Em were the consensus "Big 3" of the 2000's and their influence carried over to the 2010's.

    Honorable mention to 50.

Rod Wave is the only one that really deserves to be on this list

Travis makes great albums but he can’t rap or rap at a high level

Carti barely raps at all and mainly relies on aesthetics

Rod Wave at least has some substance even though he mainly sings

    Couldn’t be my generation

    Yeah man.

It's crazy going from Pac/Biggie/Nas in the 90's to Em/Ye/Wayne in the 2000's to Drake/Kendrick/Cole in the 2010's to this.

I know it makes you sound like a dusty oldhead but hot damn.

At least Travis and Carti make interesting sounding music that pushes boundaries production and sound wise. Rod Wave is dope in his lane but his crooning over trap beats is about as derivative as it gets today lol.
