The trend of rappers repeating the last bar they just said…
It’s not necessarily the newest one but it’s still something I catch from time to time that bothers me every time
Especially if the bar was nothing worth repeating (which is usually the case)
S***trafficking
unnecessary beat switches
just separate the song lol
Na beat switches go hard when done properly.
Separating the song would require a new hook, subject and concept
Beat switches just change the vibe of the same song.. keeps s*** interesting.
Keep beat switches
sampling 90s/00s era not really complaining but when you do it make sure it sounds decent though
S***trafficking
More of tradition then a trend atp
Calling new rappers signed to major labels “underground”
Calling Carti / Thug / Future clones “underground”

Real
S*** is lazy, unoriginal and low key manipulative

what about when they did it in the 90s
Said this in the WDTY thread but Metro's cheesy cinematic sound he's had the last few years is just dogshit to me, and that includes ppl like Travis who are a part of that "wave." Probably Kanye's worst influence in music tbh
It's literally rap for people that have MCU s*** in their list of favorite movies

You alone on this
what about when they did it in the 90s
It was an original concept then, it’s 30 plus years later now.
At this point, they’re not adding anything to the song, just replacing the old artists with themselves.
There’s also a difference between sampling and just outright jacking somebody else’s song and hoping nobody catches on to it
