KozControlIt was an original concept then, it’s 30 plus years later now.
At this point, they’re not adding anything to the song, just replacing the old artists with themselves.
There’s also a difference between sampling and just outright jacking somebody else’s song and hoping nobody catches on to it
Juicy is one of the best rap songs of all time and took the entire beat and chorus from this without changing a thing, this is why I can't hate on what the newer rappers are doing

Trishtizasampling 90s/00s era not really complaining but when you do it make sure it sounds decent though
Scorpio was one of my fav throwback beats. Not better than the original but I enjoy it

a) weak, repetitive lyrics because these niggas aren’t Wayne
b) flows that are impossible to replicate in live shows
c) songs having little to no structure. we barely get interesting hooks now
