I think he hating because ( its bad) they tried to tie it to his szn 1. Which is a crime tbh.

reminder that Issa López pitched an original crime mystery to HBO and they asked her to edit it to fit the TRUE DETECTIVE universe.

Low-key feel bad for her. She did not ask for all this vitriol and I can get why she gets defensive about her baby (the show), like creators do sometimes.

She didn't handle it well at all either. Way too involved with the reception lol

I HATED how they kept teasing supernatural but never fully committed to it

Who placed the tongue at the lab?

    Who was that ghostly figure?

What was going on with the occult s*** in Clark's trailer?

What was that fossil in the cave shaped like the spiral?

What was the point of shoehorning Rust's dad into the story.. he served no purpose besides pointing Rose to the dead bodies. How much of that was real vs hallucination?

what was going on with that ex-Tsalal engineer living in the outskirts of Ennis? why did he leave?

Besides these obvious question marks, the parts that ended up in the story didn't work either.

I refuse to believe a bunch of nerdy scientists would go ballistic and BRUTALLY murder Annie K for ruining their research. It was borderline comical how they piled on to her.

What was the point of linking Tuttle to the mines? Literally serves no purpose.

I don't buy that Prior Jr will literally KILL his dad in cold blood - nothing leading up to that scene ever hinted towards their relationship being so broken that it would lead to a cold blooded murder.

I don't buy that Prior Jr's wife would literally kick him out for DOING HIS JOB ON THE BIGGEST CASE IN ENNIS HISTORY!

How did Rose all of a sudden become the go to person for hiding bodies without her asking ANYTHING about it. That's straight up comical.

Actress playing Kayla and Navarro's sister were also just straight up BAD performers. I never for once bought into their struggle. That might be partially attributed to poor writing too.

The big reveal of Navarro killing Wheeler was NEVER A REVEAL - it was so obvious from the beginning lmao. I donno why they were teasing it as some earth-shattering revelation.

On the positives, I like the setting and how the framed the story around native struggle. I really wish they leaned more into the atmosphere and make it feel more desolate.

Fr I don't think the first season was as magical as people are acting, nor was this a total abomination. Just kinda sucked.

Agreed. Rust as a character had aged horribly in my eyes, and I liked him a lot in that season.

  • austin_butler_fan4

    nic talking alot of s***

after all the dookie he has written after s1 its pretty obvious hes not the only reason s1 was good, it was cary aswell

Yep and all the interesting thematic stuff in season 1 was mostly plagiarised, hence why his follow up seasons were forgettable when he actually had to come up with his own original stuff

Season 1 not the masterpiece people make it out to be either imo, but at least it was good.

Lmao the nerdy scientists each wanting to stab the woman like “no let me stab her next!!” And then her boyfriend strangling her out so she wouldnt suffer as much?

Man to begin with I really thought they found some sort of ancient thing/substance in the mines and that Clark was using it to try to bring his gf back to life after she had been murdered. .

I don’t know how many of yal were watching season 1 in real time, but it’s clear that some people here are either forgetting the f***ing stranglehold that it had on the country at the time, or simply were too young while it was airing.

It’s FAR better than just “good” or “fine”.

i was watching at the time, and i have done several rewatches. it was an instant classic at the time it was airing. it is still a classic if u watch it now. there is no scenario or time when it's not a classic.

i have no issue calling it the greatest mini series of all time. (i refrain from calling it the best season of tv ever since it's not fair to compare a self contained season to a season of a series like sopranos)

Watched it in real time. Fargo S1 >

I can only hope the stranglehold a show has on a country is not a measuring stick of quality of a show. Because if so, we might have to name Squid Game as one of the best shows of all time.

    I got Fargo S2 over S1 baby.

Just finished a 2 rewatch. Rewatching Mindhunter now. (GOAT). And will then circle back to 1.
