Dude was just on national TV talking about being responsible for bringing Ohio football back and how Biden always wears a mask, lol. There will be no national shutdown. Do you know how hypocritical that would look? Close to a year of this virus and only when YOU get it you decide to do something?

Imagine the ads and attacks directed at Trump if he comes out if this. Mocking the mask and downplaying the virus, etc.

I don't think the sympathy angle is going to work in his favor that much.

Yeah, it’s officially over. He is already behind Biden in the polls and a bunch of states he won last election. Plus his campaign does not have the funds to even compete with Biden and they have pulled out of several states. Now he could possibly not be able to hold rallies or events for 14 days and the Election is a month away.

If he survives, which is pretty likely:

Second debate will either be delayed or cancelled.

Trump will try to use this to gain sympathy. His team and supporters will use reactions from people wishing death on him to paint the left as evil.

Trump needed to change the news cycle from the debate, and he successfully did that now.

VP debate becomes more important, since Trump’s fate is unknown and Kamala is largely seen as taking over for Biden next term.

Trump will point out the stock market collapse as being evidence that his losing the election would tank the economy.

Trump will probably tweet suggesting that the election be delayed due to him having to stop campaigning. I don’t think anything will actually come from that.

If he dies, which is unlikely:

Pence will win the election. Biden’s whole campaign is stopping Trump, which implodes if he dies. Pence isn’t anywhere near as disliked as Trump. Trump supporters will come out en masse to carry on his legacy. People will “rally around the flag” and Trump’s favorable rating will go into the positives.
