Economy was really coasting off Obama’s stuff and there’s been rising inequality and stagnation for years that could’ve been answered by his populist platform
He also had a number of actual missteps like his very unruly cabinet, poor press secretaries, the Ukraine crisis, the Soleimani Assassination, a lack of initiative on Afghanistan, Hurricane Maria, etc
I’d say rectifying even half of these along with the issues of 2020 would’ve crushed the next opposition
