Most people have a similar story of the S2 middle stretch breaking them down and taking ages to get through
You’re onto absolute 10/10 pinnacle of the medium tier stuff now
enjoy
Halfway through The Return, first episodes didn't grab me but after 3x08...
yep

It's clicking with me but my main issue so far, and I guess the issue of a large part of the fandom, is Dougie f\*\*\*ing Jones
Ain't no need to give so much screentime.

i love the his character on some meta s*** “haha u won’t get what u want xD”
his antics are also pretty hilarious
but yea it’s p frustrating
I'm optimist about the rest of the season and overall I think I will be satisfied.
S2 is still one of the biggest fumbles oat overall and it's a pity they didn't let Lynch & Frost full creative freedom.

The Return is more so meant to be taken holistically. They're not really important as individual episodes outside of E8 which had a specific purpose. They wrote a long script as if it was a movie, filmed the entire thing and only then began cutting it up into episodes. It just goes on and on as Lynch and Frost put their pieces into place
it's a weird experience that almost never feels like it adds up until you've completely finished it and have time to reflect.
You seem to be doing good so far tho. Last time i watched this i had a friend who i was stressing this to and she wasn't buying it at all. Was very frustrated with the season from the first few episodes right until she saw the ending and then it became an all time fave lol.
think i might do my 2nd watch of the show in chronological order
Kinda wanna do this too my next watch
But on the other hand i feel like it'd make more sense to have major points of FWWM fresh in your head for The Return. Would be cool for just watching the story itself in order tho. I personally needed to watch it the same way for 2nd but i'd be on 3rd now

you really don’t understand the show if you’re hating on Dougie

i definitely think im late to this but when cooper is speaking to the new owner of the palmer house in the very last scene, the new owners name is alice tremond and they purchased the house from a mrs. chalfont. chalfont/tremond are the two names the old woman from the black lodge who gave laura the painting she hung on her wall in fwwm that first introduced her to the lodge.
it makes the ending so much more tragic because it feels like we were so close to maybe starting to piece stuff together, but instead it finished more unsure and confusing than ever

4 eps left for the Return and can't believe how much this terrific scene was the key.
Wished so much to see Bowie returning
