My bad I didn't see this was posted literally a page before lol
lmao no big deal
can't be posted enough
The Diane podcast is full of gems, literally multiple per episode, but one in particular stuck with me so hard. Itâs kinda weird because itâs so simple.
Heavy S3 spoilers behind tags, please be careful
When Coop goes to save Laura, and itâs obviously an older Sheryl Lee with makeup/wig/cgi, this in particular adds an extra layer of uncannyness, I think they specifically used the term wrongness. This isnât Laura. She isnât supposed to be here. Coop is trying to reach something that canât and shouldnât be reached. She can never be saved. Those themes are obviously expanded on in the beautifully horrifying Sarah scene right after, and in part 18, but the idea (more so the execution of that idea) that this was never supposed to happen at all, even before Judyâs interference, just makes the whole thing so much heavier, especially regarding Cooperâs morality and intentions. I love this scene so much.
Everything from the moment we see Coopâs superimposed face to the end of the episode makes me so uneasy in all of the best ways. Same goes for the âWhat year is this?â sequence. Nothing and I mean nothing has ever made me feel what these scenes make me feel.
Lauraâs Theme, The World Spins and Dark Space Low during these scenes are definitely my favorite needle drops in the entire series. Perfect.
Audreys Dance + credits in Part 15 comes kinda close to both
"Are you my best friend"
The movie was panned on release so she didn't get proper recognition and she also got sick which affected her career. Sad stuff.
Thoughts on FWWM Donna?
Kinda disappointed the original actress didn't come back but I love how she played into Laura not wanting anyone to be like her
The saddest/heartbreaking/creepiest line for me was when Laura said to Harold "He's been having me since I was 12"
Still can't get over how Sheryl screams and shivers so well, all her interactions with Leland are so perfect
On S3E2 and this s*** is really good but kinda sad the whole soap opera vibe isn't as present

Exactly. I feel like this one conveyed the innocent best friend, curious about the other side, very well. I kinda can't picture og Donna pulling that off exactly the same, she seemed a bit too grown, I could easily see her in the trenches with Laura lol.
Word, the best friend line was heartbreaking at during the Leland moment but overall, I think her last conversation with James was the saddest to me. She was just so gone. Ready to give up, her angel left her, and now she was truly alone. That sad but dead stare when she says "It's just me now" cuts deep every single time.
Not a line but her last walk to school while Birds in Hell plays is probably my favorite/the most heartbreaking moment for the same reason. All of this makes that grand expression of catharsis at the end so much more satisfying.
She's incredible. Cast as a dead body, nothing more, and look where we are now.
whys that
I have lost entire nights of sleep because of Bob and from what I've heard, the film features his scariest scenes and I need sleep. I got people staying over next weekend so I'll either watch it with them or watch it before they get here because I won't be sleeping alone
I stopped watching this years ago after the episode where Laura's killer was revealed because it felt so hamfisted
Does the rest of season 2 and season 3 live up to the highs of season 1?

You MUST watch the rest of it, really gets into the lore behind that reveal + the 3rd season itself is the best TV ever made imo, very worth watching
BOB really f***ing up sleep schedules left and right
Lightning techs can be scary

A lot of the rest of S2 is considered the worst part of the series cus Lynch left for a bit but the last few episodes are great and S3 is considered some of Lynchâs best career work
All worth watching and especially Fire Walk With Me.
