He was supposed to direct the video for Blood on the Leaves, but couldn’t come up with any ideas he thought Ye would like

We’ll play each other songs in the studio, and once in a blue moon he’ll get super excited about something. The last time was with Kanye West’s Yeezus. His favorite track was “Blood on the Leaves,” but the first thing I played him was “I’m in It,” and he just looked over at me and his eyes got really big. That’s his reaction when he gets excited about something: He gets that serious death stare and just goes, “Fuckin’ A, this is killer.”

there has not been a season of tv half as good as this since it came out
original TP exploded the possibilies of TV and The Return did it again.,, Hopefully this time it doesn't take the rest of the industry 20 years to catch up

Sopranos was only 7 years

tbf it's just a personal theory which wasn't disproven for me yet. There's def still some pre-Return shows I need to catch up on which could blow me away like og TP. Sopranos def one I still need to get on. I got my highest hopes on The Wire tbh. Both got a lot of hype to live up to tho

Just kidding. I still never went back and rewatched s3, I loved it so much. I worked at a catering office in 2017 when it aired and lived with my best buddy and we would talk about each episode incessantly each week. The dougie thing was so funny like truly one of the great tv character turns

Watching Season 1 for the first time, what the f*** was the ending of episode 3
It's where greatness starts
Which is Twin Peaks: The Return?
Lynch: t’s an 18-hour film. You could see it all at once without the opening credits each time. Stick it together and it’d be a long film.

it is a film ! f***ing c***s !

Does it bother you that viewers feel the need to resolve the mysteries of Twin Peaks rather than allowing them to be unresolved?
Lynch: I always say that people are like detectives and our lives are filled with clues. Some people wonder and look around and they take what they see and try to figure out what it all means. And they reach different conclusions. We are all like detectives, trying to figure out the meaning of life. And the same thing goes for film. You want to find a meaning – at least some people do. But now the world goes so fast. It’s just screaming on the surface loudly. And there’s not that much time for people to contemplate things and daydream and ponder.

p sure he called it a film before, he even explicitly said it was composed for the big screen (still my dream to see it on one eventually tbh). But thx for sharing the interview
He already called the original seasons of Twin Peaks a film btw
To me this is one of the best discussions of the Return I've come across yet (and I've seen/read an embarrassing amount). Not another overambitious "theory" (lowkey I enjoyed how they trashed that 5h video in the beginning), just a laid-back talk with great editing, reminding me of some of the best scenes in the season.
Wasn't even that much of a RLM fan but now I'm rly looking forward to the second part of this

second part just dropped today. There's some little things where I think they got into too speculative territory Audrey waking up and being Sherilyn Fenn... Lynch explicitly said he's not really interested in meta stuff like that, but that's just some smaller things. On the whole extremely enjoyable talk about the season
