I mean I think it's wack in general to completely disregard a demographic when it comes to dating especially when you belong to it but I really think it's valid for me. Some people like people who are polar opposites more than someone who's just like them. Just my thoughts.

because white northern elites talking and making jokes about white rednecks wasn't literally a topic during the Texas winter storm?

Because latinx just get along well with all their counterparts right?

Because Asians don't constantly fight about the model minority stereotype?

Like I said, every race does it. You're just black so naturally you pivot more towards your own issues.

White northern elites dissing rednecks isn’t comparable, you literally just described classism with that. Black men and black women airing out their grievances with each other on social media more often than other races isn’t classism

Latinx ppl sometimes do the same s*** but their isn’t a popular “Latino men aint s***” or “latinas are bitter and ghetto” narrative, and if there is it’s not as widely and openly discussed as the black one

I never said other races don’t speak about their issues with their own, just that black people do it more, knowing damn well that other races are watching

Does he apply this same logic when white men date white men? Or with Latinas dating Latinas? Like I'm sorry but bro just sounds really f***in stupid, and he probably should've just left it at "I like pink d***".

This aint about them its about his personal experience

he wouldn't feel comfortable dating a guy that he's been like his friend his whole life

why would he f*** someone he looks at like his brother

True but dating a white person is obviously different from saying you (as a black person) aren’t interested in dating black ppl

    that is true !!

idk as someone who has been in relationships with all sorts of ppl there’s a politics to who u date as black ppl

it’s really sad bc on one hand u should date who u want, however a lot of ppl (mostly men but some women) show they ass and say they dont date no types of black ppl

that’s f***ing wild to me! but i also am not in steve lacys life, i listen to his music from time to time. i just can’t put that energ my into his own internalized hatred, u feel me? i’m only gonna f*** myself up

Also think its because were the ones people are looking at

who the f*** cares what white poeple are saying on twitter

    Exactly

We are pop culture. Other races are constantly looking at what we’re arguing with each other about.

You know how many times I’ve seen a viral “black men aint s***” type tweet on my timeline with hella retweets and likes and when I go thru to see who liked the tweet it’s hella non black poc ??

Our s*** is for everyone to view and comment on way more than anyone elses

  • good boy

I feel the same way. F***ing people my race feels like family

y’all on some s*** with this take idk how ppl feel this way

    It's his opinion. His perspective

Understood, which is why I said he should just say he wanna date white dudes and left it at. Saying "It's like dating my brother" is an extremely weird and kinda nonsensical way to go with it

"latino men aint s***" isn't a popular narrative? Fam Dominican men get s***ted on every day.

"latinas are bitter and ghetto" isn't a popular narrative? Latina women get called angry just as much. Hell for them, it's worse cause their anger gets fetishized cause "it's exotic" lmfao.

White gay men get (rightfully so) s***ted on every day by their white LGBTQIA+ counterparts for being problematic.

And there you go again with the guilting "knowing damn well that other races are watching" like....it's the internet?

What, is niggas supposed to have some secret internet private clubhouse where we have these black men/black women arguments? Like I said, you coming from a place of bias. Every race does literally everything you're saying.

I agree it is true there is a burden to black dating and people being more judgmental about who you find love with. I guess my thing is just, you find a nonblack person and that's love- ok great. But don't start speaking on some "I just like people who are different from me" s*** or making other justifications bc it just sounds real funny when you take just a sec to break it down and then people are going to (reasonably imo) call you out for it.

Sure that doesn't excuse him from saying he doesn't date black ppl. But there are a lot of black ppl that have reminded me of family or were too similar to me and that's why I didn't pursue them.
