a lot of this feels like classic, not what she said, but how she said it.

pop stars shouldn’t have to be encyclopedias for the issues they bring up.

prefacing it with “do you know how hard and busy being a pop star is?!? you’re lucky i say anything at all” is kinda weird

I dont think that's what she was getting at. she was positioning her as a part of the working class and how it's difficult for her and other workers to work and stay politically literate on matters which is why she wouldn't call herself an expert and why people shouldn't be looking to her for politics

i think it’s a “people judge my body” but also chapel can hire a nutritionist this is a non issue

some peoples job is to literally work 16 hours a day doing construction, like chill you make music your life is good

Even if her life isn’t good people still dont care fr bc everybody feels like their life sucks nowadays especially on social media

I’m not even saying she genuinely doesnt have things to complain about, its just never gonna help her case to actually do it at least concerning the things shes complaining about currently.

You can tell her name is Kayleigh

If every artist was forced to have their balance above their forehead like a healthbar, i promise the view against musicians wouldnt be so skewed.

She could be absolutely right idk but all I always see about her is complaining and not music so I’m not surprised people just don’t care or eye roll.

that’s all you see because that’s all people care to talk about, it’s a 50 second clip from a 90 minute interview she just did where throughout most of the interview she’s completely chill

Lady gaga popped off during super neoliberalism golden age of Obama, and she has never made any political stance beside lgbtq rights.

    Her PR team controlled her.

WHY DO YALL GIVE A F***

    mr get dough

I get the point shes tryna make like you’re not gonna be an expert just because you care. Thats just straight up true

But she really do be complaining a lot, like the reason she gets asked questions her peers would never get asked is because she says things her peers would never say lol.

    This is my issue

Like she positions herself as someone who is politically aware

Then when she gets questioned or gets any criticism based on that she is like "relax I'm a popstar..."

You can't really do both and people aren't randomly attaching these things to her

but shes dead just making a neutral statement. which is smart. why alienate ur fanbase, and again why care

there are no neutral political statements in 2025. pretending to make one is suspect so i get why people are getting on her. if she wants to be kylie minogue, & never speak on anything but love & partying & s***or whatever, she should just do that. that seems like where Sabrina Carpenter is going. The thing is she's a gay woman, makes music about it & she knows she's already politicized by that, & she enjoys a fanbase that is largely made of of their sector. so yeah when she hews against that people are gonna feel a way. then you have everyone else who thinks she's just annoying for saying anything. I've never seen people advocate for someone getting pr training. I thought we didn't like that.

If she’s a gay woman that doesn’t mean she now has to do that. Stop. Insane standard. Her characteristics she can’t change and her being honest should not make her obligated or not obligated in this area. Imagine wanting to come out and having people say “well since others politicize ur existence now you have to talk about politics as a pop artist!” What a harmful idea as a gay guy that just bothered the hell out of me

She started talking about politics, from donating merch sales to Palestine, to not endorsing anyone during the election, to advocating for labels to take care of artists across their life time. No one foisted this expectation on her. She did it. No one asked her. Stop being obtuse I'm a gay woman btw

the interviewer wasn’t questioning her on any specific political opinion, they were discussing the general responsibility of celebrities being politically correct and all she said was she doesn’t have 100% of the answers

  • She's being careful about her bag. That's job number one, it is what it is. She not trying to go out like the Dixie chicks
