But when black ppl have been discriminated against from working and ridiculed for their hairstyle and then it gets made mainstream and popular by the same people who hated. That’s why people get upset

I don't think anybody "owns" braids or whatever, but there's definitely an issue with copying culture without giving credit to the people where you got it from, especially when it's always been looked down upon when people from that culture do the same thing.
