Wake Me Up To Drive is a really cool track, the melody in the verses then the harmonies in the chorus
wtf when was Simulation Swarm recorded? it sounds so distinct from the rest of the album's kind of lo-fi production approach. instantly one of the best songs on here and in their catalog
so Big Thief makes another good album! i'm not shocked, they're so solid
i'm not as hype as many others seem to be but taking in 20 tracks at 80 minutes with this amount of variation and Adrianne's songwriting is definitely gonna take a few spins lol
i can see people not liking this type of music writing it off as critic bait of sorts but damn man. this s*** is truly magnificent
wake me up to drive....wake me up to drive
even if I'm tired I don't wanna miss the ride
every person who i know that likes this band is an insufferable hipster, but f*** this new album is great
still playing and deciding how i feel about this overall
lowkey i think i'd like it even more if it was just their fun country/roots album. i like heavy bend and think it should be a longer song, but blurred view for example just drags it down for me. there are just a few tracks like that toward the middle and end of the album that maybe could've been saved, but i get the whole point is the "double album"
on the other hand, it has some of their finest moments. the first 5 track run is excellent. no reason, simulation swarm. it's all good. i just don't know if it all works in the same place, and i don't think we need the White Album comparisons from all these publications lol.
i haven't heard it all yet, but Beach House might have the best double album of February 2022
album will have you thinking about all past relationships with everyone you've ever encountered.
i haven't heard it all yet, but Beach House might have the best double album of February 2022
Without a doubt
Bro blurred view sounds like something that’s gonna be sampled 30 years from now, and then there’s gonna be a new cult following for big thief. I liked ufof and Adrienne solo album never been a big thief head. But man this album is so good. The instrumentation and melodies and song writing is so good. This really feels like this generation Fleetwood Mac tusk album.
hold on i lied there's only like 2 or 3 songs i find a step below the others. i keep playing and going back to this lol so it must be f***in good. it's at its best on long car rides where you can just let it play straight through imo
