I Hope You Find Your Way Home
Tyler is having his midlife crisis at 33 for some reason & is questioning whether or not he should take the path so many of his friends have, which is something more normal (settling down). He questions if just his careerism & wealth is enough to sate him. Ultimately he decides that he would rather keep things poly, tying up filial loose ends, is generally unjudging of a woman's past, is interested im having a kid, knocked up some lady, but both weren't ready, I guess they broke up, & now here we are, with Tyler doubling down on what he always did: being a beacon for others
The lady was 35 and from london yall gotta leave that young girl alone
ok so whats the concept of the album
Tyler imagining himself having a gay midlife crisis despite doing completely fine
I think it's more so you can be still be a top tier artist just from writing/vocals without knowing how to produce. But it's just more impressive if you can do both at a top tier level. Same reason why prince is rated so highly
But Kanye does not do both a top tier level
He has a blind spot just like them thats what I’m saying
If he rapped better than them and made beats then yes that’d be the case but its not
They both have blind spots so its the same to me
On my third listen and my 5 fav tracks are
Noid
Darling I
Hey Jane
Judge Judy
Sticky
No order
I’m not tryna be a d*** im just really passionate about this topic
I just saw someone say "Take Your Mask Off" is about NBA Youngboy and I've been dying for eight minutes straight.
It could be but I don’t think it is
But he wasn’t top tier at both categories
Kanye is not a top tier lyricist and he has writers but he’s still a top tier artist bc every artist has a blind spot
Kanye’s blind spot is his writing, Kendrick and Hov’s is them not making beats so hows it not close
Did he have help with writing?
Yes.
But was he also writing a lot on his first five-six albums?
Yes.
Not to mention Kanye has plenty of beats he did not make the beat for but is credited as the producer in his later catalog because he executive produced it and told the producers how to make it
Hov and Kendrick do the same thing but just dont credit themselves as the producer
I’m not even s***ting on Ye for that bc thats the definition of production, the whole making beats is the only way to be a producer is something that only exists in rap
Lets not forget consequence helping him out and all them too even back in TCD days
Its not even a bad thing either nor does it invalidate kanyes contributions but people have been under the impression hes some sort of super duper genius above the rest of all the other geniuses we have in music lol.
THE WAY THE ALBUM LOOPS BACK
ok so whats the concept of the album
There isn’t one he’s just talking about his life
The lady was 35 and from london yall gotta leave that young girl alone
Edited

You call it a blind spot but someone like Jay literally doesn’t produce at all
Kanye at least can write
Sticky
Second listen classic, not the experimental departure I was expecting but a great if pretty straightforward Tyler record. Better than CMIYGL.
They wanna know if he deserves elite status for being a rapper or an artist and the back and forth is just tryna differentiate the two
Kanye will always be #1 in that realm for me. He was literally the perfect artist
I Killed You, Sticky, and Balloon are f***ing terrible
Darling, I, Hey Jane, Take Your Mask Off, I Hope You Find Your Way Home are really good
Not the album I was hoping for. See yall in 2-3 years
