American PatriotMight catch some flack for this but a song like Wet Dreamz is an example of this type of personal vulnerable storytelling done right. Its not super specific nor personal, youre not focused on Cole's specific life or story while you listen. Its a simple story, textured with familiar details, about a fundamental human experience that people can relate too -- losing your virginity as a young dude. Thats it.
Yeah, I have always been a “keep it relatable” guy when it comes to personal stories. Don’t wanna get too too specific.
However, sometimes it’s that one specific detail that will make it relatable to many people, so you have to have a gentle touch.
