There’s a reason why the Kendrick and Drake beef was such a big deal.
Those are 2 rappers who really do this rap s***, and they became rap titans . And they are a last of a dying breed
There is no one in this new generation who could have good rap beef, and it’s because they don’t give af about actually being a great rapper
Name me 3 new generation rappers in the mainstream who could genuinely hold their own in a rap battle
Kodak Black
Oh from that perspective yeah I agree
I dont think TLOP has "no cohesion" though I think the problem with TLOP is that it precipitated kanye genuinely losing his focus and mind so people just lump it in with the lazy bullshit we got after it
Agreed I never understood how tlop has no cohesion. Like saying dark side of the moon has no cohesion cause a lot of different types of sounds/songs are on it
TLOP has a lot going on
Compared to albums like Yeezus or 808s that have one singular sound pretty much throughout
yeah but that works thematically with the whole "which / one" angle
im saying that it was mostly intentional on TLOP but became actual laziness on the projects that came afterwards
I do think that tlop was the first sign that he was losing it though and it couldve been tighter/more focused

but the whole point of tlop is that it’s supposed to be about his career as a whole. he’s f***ing pablo lol it’s an updated expanded version of all his classic sounds styles
the focus of tlop is that it’s his autobiographical statement. it’s basically his own self titled
that album is a culmination of his entire discography into one album, the lack of cohesion is the cohesion 😏
Listening to yeezus rn
i am a god production is fire I take back that it’s ass but goddamn Kanye is silly on here
If we're being honest the production being amazing is because he had people like daft punk and hudmo come in to produce and teach him new techniques
yeah but that works thematically with the whole "which / one" angle

he knows that he’s just trolling
dude does this every single time when Kanye comes up @Nikedufflebag
that album is a culmination of his entire discography into one album, the lack of cohesion is the cohesion 😏
the album is called the life of pablo and he was trying to give himself pablo as a nickname around that time. it’s simple math
he knows that he’s just trolling
dude does this every single time when Kanye comes up @Nikedufflebag
ah got it
If we're being honest the production being amazing is because he had people like daft punk and hudmo come in to produce and teach him new techniques
Yeah I had to turn the album off when he started screaming on I am a god s*** is on the cob
he knows that he’s just trolling
dude does this every single time when Kanye comes up @Nikedufflebag
Am I ever not trolling to you man lol
Yeah I had to turn the album off when he started screaming on I am a god s*** is on the cob
Yeah if it's not for you its fully understandable lol
Might be my top rap album still tho
he’s crazy travis is in that conversation for sure.
…whether he’s a leader in that conversation is a different story
Agreed
It's pretty inarguable that every Kanye album prior to Pablo had a concise sound
And I do agree that it being a retrospective of all of his past works actually is a plus
but only one song the average person can name + one song that was carrying all of its streams past a certain point. and its not like that one song was a travis solo cut
maybe throw cant say in there as a cult favorite that helped blow don toliver up
not saying sales are everything but if we want to talk about an album being a "classic" I think impact on the public matters
Ur trippin
Yeah I had to turn the album off when he started screaming on I am a god s*** is on the cob
coolest part of the song wtf
yeah but that works thematically with the whole "which / one" angle
im saying that it was mostly intentional on TLOP but became actual laziness on the projects that came afterwards

kids + mental health + start of yeezy + classic album. S*** was a lot for him
he knows that he’s just trolling
dude does this every single time when Kanye comes up @Nikedufflebag
That’s one of his main gimmicks.
Travis is some generational super producer and Kanye never really made anything of note
Yeah I had to turn the album off when he started screaming on I am a god s*** is on the cob
no context baby takes
There’s a kernel of objective truth in there about how artists are marketed to us, and how the vocal part of rap media/social media will mostly play along and act fake-surprised when it turns out that, say, a Bossman DLow strictly puts out songs that sound 99% similar to Get In With Me. Nothing wrong with that – just like a meme, if you like the format once then it’s probably gonna still hit for you when it pops up again
The idea that they’re taking up potential space that Tyler could be using is laughable though
They don't hear you though
