and even if Kanye was getting writing help to that extent i don’t even hold it against him like that because his production and ability to execute projects is unprecedented

writing help is negligible if you’re the dude that is instructing everyone what to do on your albums and curating an entire era and vision from the ground up, it’s the same with Beyonce to an extent imo (albeit she’s in pop and writing isn’t as cherished as it is in hip-hop but etc.)

Kanye hasn't evolved since MBDTF, he's been going off of rep/influence for a long while. His formula only works 100% when he's in vicinity of other great artist. His downfall is also an example of the decline in music itself, buy Ye never really transitioned his style. He's been trying to fit his square into these new motherfuckers circle for a while.

you’re delusional if you don’t see any truth in what he’s saying. as usual with tyler’s takes

Tyler is an old head (33 years old) and old heads in every generation of rap has had the same opinion as tyler on new rappers and the state of rap music. KTT is old head status so I see why you and alot of others here agree strongly with his opinion.

The fact is rap has always been for the youth. It's not for people like Tyler and most people on this site anymore. The kids are gonna get inspired and identify with the rap that's coming out nowdays and the cycle will repeat once they get older. To deny there's any musicianship because it doesn't allign with your beliefs/views on the art form just shows you are dusty.

Veeze has good bars on his production and is a little more boundary pushing than literally everyone else in his scene

My complaints with rap have more to do with inter-artist relationships, labels, and fanbases than what is actually being made in the moment tbh

    Boundary pushing?

He makes punch-in raps over plugg-ish type beats

I mean like what you like but he’s not making anything new lol

Rap's largest demographic are teens and young adults, with a majority of rappers being in that age range too. 33 is an old head.

The old vs young split is what killed the genre

Kids always been a big factor but music was still universal. The albums that got kids hyped were also well respected by the old heads

When they say they dont care iirc cardi b was on wax sayin she dont care about music

Sukihana too, literally got offended that she got called a musician.

And even tho i enjoy their music, id love to see 00piums opinion on music as an art form.

There should be no room for ppl like that anywhere near the top of any genre period.

while i generally get your point, i gotta disagree on that last statement…

discrediting someone who is (in some way) very talented and successful just because they might not share the same passion as you do is crazy. it doesn’t mean that they can’t make “good“ music or music a lot of people enjoy. you are clearly talking from an emotional standpoint here. motivation does not always equal outcome. meaning: someone who doesn’t give a f*** can still make a “better“ song than someone who does. that’s just how life works and i don’t think that should be what determines who gets to make music and who doesn’t. it should just determine whether you will support said artist or not. nothing more and nothing less.

why would tyler of all people say this. acting like people didn't perceive odd future as "meme music".

if u make music ur a musician! if u make music that many other people like to listen to, u deserve some respect for it! does not matter if ur deathly serious or if ur joking around the whole time.

just another instance of tyler being pretentious and exposing his lack of appreciation for hip-hop

Tyler gives his flowers to hip hop as much as any artist what do you mean

“It's not for people like Tyler”

So can you tell me why he and people older then him are the only ones still doing numbers?

Why can’t any of these kids hold onto a career for more then a couple years?

that “it’s not for you” s*** is equivalent to saying “well that’s just my opinion”

just a phrase people toss out to kill any discussion or avoid having to justify the s*** they’re saying
