Idk I didn’t perceive odd future as meme music, I saw them as counter culture and a breath of fresh air in a genre that was turning to more pop type records (wiz khalifa went from a street rapper to pop rapper with rolling papers, Mac miller went from boom bap/sample to blue slide park, etc). There was a real negative sentiment towards mainstream rap.

Then odd future broke and it was like all hell broke loose.

But also odd future came out when I was in college so maybe I have a different perspective on it. I lived through it as a grown ass adult lol

There were some flashes on Wolf but FIND YOUR WINGS, the production on BLOW MY LOAD (even tho I dont know what he was thinking with the mix or some of the lyrics) & 2SEATER (I looooove the end of that s***) was when I started realizing he was gonna be different production-wise.

He not wrong. If you don’t take pride in your work it’s hard to respect that person in that field. A lot of people ain’t musicians they’re just trying to find a sound that will make money. They’re businessmen.
