    musician
    /myo͞oˈziSH(ə)n/

a person who plays a musical instrument, especially as a profession, or is musically talented.

rappers make "music" but they are not musicians

You’re just toying the line of ignorance by saying rappers ≠ musicians. That is not at all what Tyler is saying, nor anyone besides you for that matter.

But he cares about making music and being a musician

You don’t have to reinvent the wheel to be a musician, you just have to care.

He’s talking about rappers who put in low effort but still get gassed up as legitimate artists

Meanwhile they can’t spit a legitimately good 16 to save their life

    Okay nah, I don't disagree

I do actually think there are some fundamental difference between the new generation of rappers coming up out of the underground today and those that did say.. 10-15 years ago (Tyler's generation) and it really all comes down to ambition.

if we were to compare the albums that tyler's generation created when they were 18-24 to today's generation's album/songs, not only were they more varied in sound/production but also subject matter, aesthetic, and creativity.

I mean he hasn’t necessarily changed any genres, but he is objectively influential. And several artists have said he influenced them

And there’s no one that can say that Tyler doesn’t put in a lot of effort in all of his music

He not wrong but honestly I’m tired of this convo about the genre

Even with his huge Pharrell influence there was a huge wave of people who wanted to sound like Tyler and he legit put on Earl and Frank, that whole 2010 - 2013 Odd Future wave doesn't exist without him

Nobody would know who Tyler is if he didn’t blow up off of Yonkers. He can’t accuse others of doing something that he owes his career to, even if he’s tried to distance himself.

Tyler thinks because he knows what a chord progression is and tossed a group of violinists in a room he can start looking down on the genre that made him. He has a history of this weird elitist mentality - by far the most obnoxious musician.

so you didn’t hear what he said at all

When they say they dont care iirc cardi b was on wax sayin she dont care about music

Sukihana too, literally got offended that she got called a musician.

And even tho i enjoy their music, id love to see 00piums opinion on music as an art form.

There should be no room for ppl like that anywhere near the top of any genre period.
