First of all it was all in the heat of the moment and a split second decision of course he's gonna try to prevent the girls from stealing his car and getting away
Secondly this was most likely the man's only source of income if he lost the car (who knows what his car insurance policy is too) then he has no way to provide for his family
He was fighting for his family (car = job = providing for his family) and not for the actual car itself
Again let’s be clear I’m responding to Y’all not ridiculing homie for making an adrenaline filled decision, I’ve certainly made them before
That being said GPS, vin number, insurance, however Uber tracks cars to know when food and s*** is delivered
He wasn’t gonna lose his car forever if he falls back once they’re in the drivers seat
I’m just saying it’s usually better to live to fight another day

Do you realize that in a lot of carjacking cases the cops seize the car as evidence and inspect it until the conclusion of the trial
The man would have been car-less or weeks/months at the very least
Also cops place such low priority towards carjackings in lower income neighborhoods so who knows if they would have even found the car too
