Update 2 of the day:
Just got this message from my state rep:
“PUA informed us that the proof originally submitted was insufficient because it was not documentation that proved employment outside of your school employment in 2019/2020. You were denied on the COVID-19 eligibility issue as a result. We asked what kind of documentation might help you at your hearing and they said it may be helpful to provide a specific email or notification from your direct supervisor that you lost employment due to COVID-19. PUA also suggested that you have your W2s readily available.
At this point you will have to go through with the appeal hearing and present that documentation then. “
What the f*** does “employment outside of my school employment” even mean bruh i was unemployed
time to go to court AGAIN
Youre in MA right?

In 2019 I was employed by the school (same job and I can prove it in my w2’s) and in the summer I worked at a beach in RI, but shouldn’t matter since it was in RI not MA

I lost my job at school in Ohio due to COVID and that was my reason for unemployment in MA
would that have put you over the PUA max income? they may be after you for claiming PUA rather than regular unemployment, the base benefit was about twice as much(not the 600)

I applied for normal unemployment before hand. And they denied me due to monetary reasons (me being under)

Update on this. I asked wtf “employment outside of my school employment means. And they came back with this
“My apologies for the confusion. I reached out to PUA to double check on the phrase they provided. They apologized for their error and said you will only need to provide proof that you lost your job because of COVID-19 and proof of MA wages. If that is school wages, it should suffice. As mentioned in the earlier message, they said it may be helpful to provide a specific email or notification from your direct supervisor that you lost employment due to COVID-19. PUA also suggested that you have your W2s readily available.”
Well that’s much clearer to me. Sounds like I can actually beat this case
