Regardless of his intent, it was an inappropriate joke for a professor to make in front on an entire class. I’m sure the professor is a great guy in real life, but he definitely deserved to be fired.

Crine at making it seem like the teacher offering a spare bedroom negates the fact that a highly inappropriate joke took place. I wouldn't feel comfortable staying at a teacher's house who cracks Wuhan jokes at my expense.

As a teacher he should have known better. Doubt there was any ill intent, but inappropriate comments such as those can disrupt the learning environment and student performance.
