Fr fr like Leo and co are fantastic but at some point it feels like they jus taking space

Having less popular actors in big roles is usually more compelling to me when they do a good job. Its like they are genuinely a new character/ person and not "Leonardo DiCaprio but playing a slave owner"

    You feel me?

This how I felt about Jonathan Majors when I first seen him in Last black man of SF. Now look at him, the man’s in the MCU.

Sophie Turner once said they gave her the Jean Grey role because the executives checked the number of her IG followers

Why? All the great actors you could think of have their signature breakthrough role.

Its the same concept tom hanks will forever be forrest gump

I dont mean unknown in the most literal sense

I mean studios trusting on different actors as their leads. Gives it a different charme to it. Dont feel chewed up

    Take rain man tom cruise

Entirely different vibe than current one. Current tom cruise is unwatchable to me and should be replaced in every movie

I think most actors starts through indie films and they build on it by connections. Sometimes I watch an actor's first film and to that point, he/she might be unknown. You think he'll/she'll be famous someday. This has been started since the 70s.

I mostly just don’t like that all the ‘big time’ prestige directors latch on to the same few guys & they copycat each other in that respect no less than your average studio invention, in theory they should have a better eye for undiscovered or underutilized talent

This is so stupid lmao. If an unknown actor truly turned in a performance better than a list Hollywood talent, they’re going to get more work and get bigger

Yeah bro people have this weird relationship with entertainers where they love being hip to them before they blow up, but if they don’t blow up they question their taste and if they was ever really good. But if they DO blow up they view em as a sell out and never as good as their earlier work.

  • Nov 25, 2022

    Fresh actors are nice

You notice with a lot of long lasting actors they don’t have much versatility and they start playing the same character in every role

  • Nov 25, 2022

yeah man i agree julia fox > cate blanchett

  • Nov 25, 2022

Kind of agree, having the same set of faces rotating through roles is kind of jarring. I really don't want to see Tony Stark as Sherlock or Doolittle. Let someone else eat ffs
