Thought the new blade runner was boring af
Will try and rewatch to see if they grow on me.
Also my first watch of Moonlight I was very underwhelmed and then it ended up growing with each watch and becoming my favorite movie of the 2010s
re: Blade Runner. I love Sci-Fi, so the slow, meditative world-building pace of 2046 was very satisfying to me. Understand why people wouldn't like it though.
re: Moonlight. Saw it and thought it was good by today's standards. 8/10 ish. But I don't see what about it would warrant repeat viewings. Was written initially as a play and I felt that was very clear. Also don't know why the adult actors got the shine. Kid that played the teenager in the second act BODIED the rest of the cast.
anyway, what about it grew on you?
Oct 31, 2019people who vehemently hate the last jedi make me cringe and i genuinely believe that a good portion of them refuse to be open minded about the ideas the film presents and resort to spewing the popular opinion on it being the film that “ruined” Star Wars mainly due to their political beliefs.

twin peaks is overall terrible, im a lynch fan btw.
it seem season has amazing episodes in the beginning and ends but everything in the middle is just so uninteresting to me. season three was so disappointing.

KYMRI don't like that in every tv show or movies these days theres always a token gay thats there just for sake of being gay. I have nothing against anyone in the LGBTQ+ community I feel the same when theres a token black or Hispanic person I feel that rather than adding people in for "diversity" they should characters that multifaceted.
I also dont f*** with star wars nor lord of the rings I like fantasy and sci fi but those movies are impossible for me to enjoy

Is it just me or does it seem like female characters get bashed a lot for not being perfect characters by a lot of male audience members who wouldn't voice those same opinions on a male character. What made me think of this was comments about Captain Marvel, Wonder Woman during the Injustice games, Delores during season 2 of Westworld, Danerys from Game Of Thrones and a few others I can't think of at the moment.
Once Delores shifted into becoming a different kind of character with different goals some niggas just wouldn't shut the f*** up about it and would complain at every turn. The same with Danerys. Once she started really sweeping through her campaign the hate started rolling in. And niggas would normally stick by and just ride the character arc if it was a dude.
Now I can't speak too well on Captain Marvel and the hate in comment sections because I've only seen her in Endgame but again once a female character reaches a certain level of power and niggas can't imagine themselves f***ing them, they just getting s*** on. And I get that there are flaws surrounding a lot of the characters I mentioned but there are male characters written like this that are never met with the same hate. And funny enough dudes love Gal's Wonder Woman because she seems like an easily manipulated "Woman child" goddess where she's hot enough, strong enough but would still f*** a dude who imagines themself as Bruce Wayne/Batman
They can deviate, just not too much. Dudes like women they can control

I can’t comment on the other movies but as someone who’s seen both Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel in theaters, I can confidently say that Captain Marvel gets a lot of hate because Infinity War hyped her up to be a big part of the key to defeating Thanos when in reality she did a couple cool things but didn’t play that big a role like it was hinted at.
Plus her movie felt like a generic phase one MCU origin story, especially since it was placed like a road stop on the way to Endgame. Her movie also retroactively made a joke out of Nick Fury losing his eye, and there’s a character arc in there that kinda seemed underdeveloped.
(I don’t know if you’ve seen the movie or plan on it, so I don’t wanna spoil anything)
The writers didn’t seem like they knew what to do with her
