The one thing that made Robocop 1987 so great was its satire on police militarization, corporate control, etc. Every single piece of Robocop material since has portrayed Robocop as a traditional superhero who fights crime.

I would like to see the idea of Robocop as an armored police cyborg NOT being a good thing explored more.

Exactly. Rambo and Robocop were not meant to be idolized action heroes, but the success of the first movies propelled sequels, cartoons, comics, toys, etc.

I just couldn't get into it. I forced myself to watch it all the way up to when the black dude died. I think his name was Gus? Not that, that was the reason why I stopped, it was more so that I got tired of forcing myself to watch something I didn't enjoy.

I think anyone's that seen it comfortably puts it top 10.
