Btw i thought drake said he wanted to be done at 35. So he's only got 2 or 3 albums left. Im sure he can churn out at least a couple more safe albums. They may be average or mid but they wont be complete f***ing misses like em had.

That's the difference between them. Em takes far more creative risks which leads to higher highs, but he also completely embarrasses himself as well.
While drake can s*** out radio singles with the same formula like he has for the last like 5 years and still get radio play.. looking back alot of it sounds very similar, but it wont sound terrible in hindsight

Every artist says that. Hov's been saying he'll retire his whole career, Mick Jagger said he didn't want to be singing Satisfaction past 30 and is still singing it now in his 70s lol.

Unless he goes into acting and films i don't see him retiring. He'll slow down at some point tho

Would really dig that from him actually. See him drop a couple more albums and go straight into making a movie every couple years. He'd have more time with his son and wayyyy less pressure and hate

i think he'll be putting out something still.

i bet making movies can be consuming too if he became really great at it. especially if he's involved in any of the projects beyond acting

It depends on if he's directing or scriptwriting. If he's simply acting it'll take a few months depending on how big the movie is. But if he only does this every couple years he should have a ton of free time.

We also need to realize 40 prolly wont be producing that much longer. I meam i dont know the severity of that disease but i can see him not wanting to work nearly as much in his 30's and wantint to live more of his life while he's still got alot of mobility

yeah i feel like people thought he'd already be doing that by now.

i think he'll keep making music till he's not one of the main guys, which for him could be another decade. Look at Kanye, he's only dropped one mainstream album in the last 7 years and he's still one of the most streamed artists in the world. Unlike ye, if drake keeps making music i don't think he'll ever take his focus off making hits and he'll still have the audience to have them for years.

Yeah bro drake is just a glorified nelly!

Eminem definitely had higher highs, but drake is by far more consistent. At the very least his singles will live on forever.

Singles wise yeah, albums wise imo, nah

Even drake said em influenced him lol.

Em has alot of influence on hip hop, but its more in his writing styles and not in his content.

Early Em and drake have a way of rapping where it sounds super natural and like theyre talking to you and giving you their life story more than fitting bars. Obviously in the last decade em switched it up and it was definitely more about technicals and its clear as day he lost that gift for a minute

He had some overrated albums after NWTS that feature a lot of mid imo.

That's why I'm worried about Certified Lady Boy.

Im in the opposite lane. I used to hate nwts and then did a 180 on it on relistens. I think drake really hit it out of the park on take care through if youre reading this, but after that its just mid.

I mean i wouldnt rank them as high as other classics but i think those albums will definitely be looked back upon as classics at this point. Nwts isnt perfect throughout but it has enough to be a really really solid package.

Honestly tho it will be interesting to see how Drake goes about when he gets older.

    HOWEVER.

A better comparison would be Kanye West.

Just appalling how this dude who I consider a legend just dropped off in terms of quality.

Even tho his last album is still good but his other bs he pulls now over shadows his music.

    which is a disappointment.
