I'm so out of touch I can't comment. But I hate the trend where they rap over old hit songs with little changes. I know it's not new but it does seem like absolutely minimal effort goes into the verses and the "sample" carries it. See: First Class, that ass Nicki Minaj song

not only rap, it's like this in all genres. music is in an awful state right now. compare it to how the music scene was during 2008-2016.. the quality drop is staggering.
