not that unpopular to consumers maybe to companies and devs, but battle royals shouldn't be focussed on highly competitive play and have creative decisions done with esports in mind. not saying they shouldn't aim to have good mechanics and weapon balances but ultimately the genre is made for having fun with mates.

I'd really like Dunkey/NakeyJakey/Tim Rogers to make a video on influential game mechanics that everyone ran with. Like when they were first used and how other developers implemented them. Like Arkham's combat system for example. I'd love to see where this "clear the map" mechanic originates from. That s*** was in Spiderman and Horizon Zero Dawn but I swear it was AC or Far Cry that started this s***ty fad

Try games like Nioh, Sekiro, Bloodborne, Hollow Knight. Actually challenging games and minimal story/cutscenes (not sure about Nioh with regards to this)

I feel like playing a Soulsborne game lowkey teaches you how to outsmart most of the AI enemies in these games. I feel like I can comfortably dodge enemies in HZD and even my first time playing GoT at a friend's house, I was running and rolling around those niggas making it look easy
