It Made perfect sense both plot wise and thematically why she did
The Asian woman didn’t want to give up the life of her daughter who she knew would respond to her vampire dad asking to come in
The other peoples families were at risk too but the whole scene made perfect sense . I’m surprised at how much debate there is about that scene

She wanted to fight them head on . She throws the Molotov they could instantly go kill her daughter . It made perfect sense that she wanted to take a stand and buy time til sunrise where they couldn’t attack others . She accepted her fate for “ sinning “ at a party and didn’t want innocents hurt on behalf of those that choose to go to the party I thought that was pretty clear
