Stack, as in "smokestack", means fire tho. Hence the red imo

Wouldn’t say that has anything to do with it.

Just the classic red vs blue.

    Smoke was cool, calm.
    Stack was fiery, hot head.

Nah that ending was kick ass.

I’m never turning down seeing racists get their s\*\*\* kicked in, specially how they set it up

You seem to love every single thing about this movie, how do you explain the plot hole?

    Don’t be silly.

prior to the big fight, there were only 6 people in the juke joint and they all had to eat garlic. Once the Asian lady yelled “come in” and the vampires come rushing in they start biting/killing random niggas that were all of a sudden inside the juke joint…

Yeah I think I gotta chalk this up to editing. They prob filmed a lot more… which is why the last 30 mins felt so damn choppy.

I mean that could be but story wise how does that even get explained?

They made everyone at the party leave, it’s safe to assume they got turned into vampires. We have a clear scene of 6 people being in the juke joint eating garlic and the random nigga they toss out. I just don’t see how 10 more niggas just made they way back into the juke joint unharmed

Idk bruh I just don’t think it’s that big a deal when the whole last 30 minutes seems like it was right before sunrise, maybe them niggas we’re in another room lmao I’m just willing suspend my disbelief enough to not give af and don’t see 2 or 3 random niggas appearing out nowhere to be vamp kills worthy enough to be a “plot hole”

I think the idea of a whole town of black folk pretty much going missing overnight plays a lot better for the audience to get ppl thinking even if we don’t see the towns reaction

they should’ve just never had all the people leave the party, problem solved, you now have people to kill off when the action starts.

it was probably just a desire to have the final showdown between the main cast but they could've had some extras stick around in the back so at least we know as the audience it's not just those 6 or 7 people fighting

To me that defeats the garlic scene, which made sense to make sure everyone still left is GOOD, now all sudden there’s extras just hanging out in another room

There’s nothing wrong with discussing the good and bad parts of a movie. That’s what this thread is for.

Yea well the thing is, you filmed the garlic scene and you love the garlic scene but you know it doesn’t work with the extra people around so it has to be what it is and then you understand the fight scene has to have some kills that are inconsequential.

I guess the question is… if you’re Coogler and you can’t reshoot the garlic scene, do you keep it in or take it out?

And this could be what @ilgnd was referring to in regards to editing.

I’m wondering how the script looks and how it was written. Cus a lot of times scripts will have extra scenes that didn’t make the cut. But if he wrote it as “scene - 6 people eat garlic” “next scene - vampires rush in and kill off a few people but our core 6 still good” I have to question why? Because your script is your blueprint before you even shoot which helps avoid all of this.

It's probably best to seek out the insights of those involved with the film for some of the questions we have. See the comments in this article.

....how does that have nothing to do with them being named smoke and stack? The smokestack twins? You're not wrong with the a***ysis but of course it matters, otherwise why would they have been named that

I mean it’s kinda a basic response tbh “I wanted to sacrifice myself to redeem myself and give Sammie/Smoke a chance”… I think we all understood that.

Im being more specific about slicing the arm, I’m not super knowledgeable on vampire culture but obviously the blood drew them in but can he still turn into a vampire? Or no since he’s half way dead at that point?

In terms of vampire turning, I was curious to see if getting drool in your mouth had the same effect. Lol, didn't matter much cuz she wrecked his s\*\*\* 2 seconds after that but still
