Ohhhh ok that could be interesting, if he could make the main Indian characters interesting to the level of Smoke and Stack. I’d be cool with a Chicago story more than anything but I doubt that would be a vampire movie, which I’d prefer. Just some 1930s gangster s\*\*\*. Like the details of always negotiating, paying people to watch the truck, having this aura surrounding they name, I loved all of that
Speaking of negotiating I do like the call back when Smoke essentially negotiated his way out of killing Stack

We’ve got several decades to play with…
They could do 70s, 80s, 90s… each could have its own styles.

But going to a different decade do you mean with all new characters? An anthology? Or following Stack? Regardless it’s gonna be a different movie than what we got here
Cause its an amazing world
so let coogler keep making more amazing original worlds

Like Wakanda? Keep

Yeah a 1930s gangster film would be insane

Ultimately this. We’ve only had 1 Coogler movie that didn’t turn into a trilogy. I’d rather see him cook up something brand new again.
He’s doing X files next and then BP3. After all that I don’t think I’d be interested in him circling back to Sinners territory. Might as well do something completely brand new.

dammit man does he have to do another marvel thing
Facts it didn’t. it definitely looked cool with MBJ using a 30s style Tommy gun killing the KKK but it felt unnecessary.
idk.. i felt opposite. The killing of the main vamp felt anti climatic. The kkk killing was a much needed cathartic release for the audience.

Yea we can follow stack and hailee through their journey. 70 years as vamp leaves a ton of creative space.
Yeah a 1930s gangster film would be insane
That’s how you know the character work is rich when the past stuff sounds like it could be a movie too.
Typically a characters backstory is something cliche like “my dad use to hit me” and that’s it. Yes this movie has that, to serve as why the characters are who they are, but Ryan doesn’t just stop there, there’s a whole backstory of the Chicago stuff and stealing from the Irish and Italians and working for Capone which sounds like an entire movie.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Ryan wrote out an entire backstory of their time in Chicago.

You think so? I think that’s only because “they are the KKK”… if they weren’t the KKK and just random con men would you feel the same way?

Yeah.. because that was the coolest looking action scene in the whole movie. The way the main vamp died had me like... "that's it?"

And I agree with all that, it did look super cool and the main vamp ending was dumb. But story wise you don’t think it would’ve came off even more satisfying if they were involved in the story a little more?
I might be jumping off the deep end here but I’m wondering if I would of preferred instead of turning a bunch of niggas into vampires, instead the KKK pulled up - got turned into vampires being they cousin was already there, and now the KKK is more involved in the story. If that’s the direction and you still wanna include the Tommy gun scene, I’d set it up early that they got silver bullets from Chicago or some s\*\*\*, that way when Smoke finally uses the gun it’s effective on them. Cus idk it LOOKED cool, but for me that’s enough, storytelling wise it just felt like an extra fight scene

Yeah.. it did feel like an extra fight scene. But idk about having the kkk more involved like that.. s*** might have felt too django'ish for me, lol.

That’s funny cus he went in the Django route in having an extra fight scene for the sake of having an extra fight scene
He was baptizing him?
Especially considering the character it was done to and if he has everyone's memories, he knows he's a preachers son. And with the lines about "the Lord's prayer won't save you because you're using the colonizers tongue" I'm more than positive that was the intention.
bro i was wondering who da hell they were killing too!
This has me dead because I remember thinking wait who are these random niggas they're spotlighting lmfao
I thiught smoke was stack and stack was smoke (by name) until this morning lol.
My mind wanted Red MBJ to be “smoke” cuz it seemed like he was the one who… wanted Smoke… smh
Stack, as in "smokestack", means fire tho. Hence the red imo
Hmm. I'd have to look closer at that next watch.
Actually yeah that’s what happened cus remember the garlic scene was only Smoke, his gf, Sammie and his girl, Asian lady and Slim. If there were other people in the juke joint they would’ve had them eat garlic too. Yet once the vampires rush in, after the Asian lady throws the fire they start biting random niggas that are suddenly there

Damn bro I love Ryan but that’s some sloppy ass writing smh
Yeah.. because that was the coolest looking action scene in the whole movie. The way the main vamp died had me like... "that's it?"
The shootout at the end was by the numbers as f***. Not necessary and not cool, only cool thing was the death and that wasn't cathartic imo
And considering how dope and fresh the movie was, I wish the action was more unique across the board
Everything else was so fye tho that I'm having trouble loving that because it wasn't as dope
Nah that ending was kick ass.
I’m never turning down seeing racists get their s\*\*\* kicked in, specially how they set it up
