she got that black mom/auntie build and women of her stature/skin tone arent usually love interests i can see why u would think this if you werent following the audio
imagine being a nigga like that half watching the movie and seeing "your body ain't forget me"
from the initial antagonistic framing of playing music as the devil, “I want your songs…I want your songs”, Sammy being the macguffin for the vampires, the moments showcasing different eras of black music culture, and Sammy’s final decision to choose his music - against the the same word the main vampire was the colonizer’s word - this was a metaphor for how black music has been colonized
That part during the barn burning scene where the camera transitioned from the embers to the stars in the sky and then panned back to remmick
Ludwig took Sammy's high note, ran it through a bunch of filters and autotune to the point where it almost sounds like a guitar, which is remmick's thing. anytime he shows up, we get electric guitar. so the autotune is like a bridge.
absolute f***ing cinema
Just saw some people on twitter talking bout how they thought annie was smoke's aunt/mom i was like nigga how
But….they f***ed

yea i had the misfortune of seeing that trailer when i went to see Mickey 17. i used to love watching trailers at the movies but now i go out of my way to avoid them
Ight second viewing I still pretty much feel the same. Really f***ing love the first half. The world building and character work was great. I love the dialogue, ima sucker for when charismatic characters sit there and tell a story, and Slim handled that great. The direction and camera work was damn near flawless and don’t get me started on the score.
The midpoint music performance scene is still one of my favorite parts, I’m actually surprised to see some people disliking that sequence now.
Still meh on the 3rd act, I still feel like it was rushed and the whole lemme keep fake drowning Sammie so Smoke has enough time to come save the day was dumb and cliche. I actually don’t like that smoke killed Remmick, feel like it would’ve been cooler if Sammie used the broken guitar to stab Remmick. The sun magically coming up in the nick of time was dumb and made the Asian girl dying pointless. They could’ve just waited 20 minutes. The whole Stack being a vampire felt a little more cheesier this go around especially wit him dancing and clapping around wit the folks outside. Besides that I loved his character. The final post credit scene felt like they was over staying they welcome, s\*\*\* had me thinking “damn this nigga singing AGAIN”.

how could anyone dislike that sequence?? that was my favorite moment in the film. it had me in ecstasy, i’m a s*** for one shot takes
why the hell do people want to make sequels and prequels out of everything
then get mad at studio for milking franchises, this is how it starts
Yeah that felt a little too easy cus stack killed the GF like it was nothing
Exactly
