Considering this hasn’t already been posted in here (that I’ve seen anyway) I’m sure there’s probably not much substance to these rumours.
But according to this article, anonymous people who claim to have connections to Drake are saying he’s going to announce CLB will be his last album before he either retires (apparently because he’s noticed a “dwindling reception” which seems like bullshit) or takes an extended hiatus to spend more time with family.

Rosenberg from Hot 97 also recently mentioned rumours of CLB being Drake’s last album but I suppose he could have just gotten that information from the internet as above.
Personally I’d be surprised if Drake pulled the pin after CLB given he said in the Rap Radar interview that he doesn’t plan on retiring at 35 like the bar on Weston Road Flows but he isn’t sure if he wants to rap past 40. If that’s the case then I guess it would make more sense to keep going hard for the next few years at least before his 40th bday starts to loom on the horizon.
Also I don’t know if he’d want to bow out now without being able to tour and s*** and he’s such a workaholic that I can’t picture it.
But playing devils advocate, maybe he feels like now is the right time to step away and spend time with his son and parents while COVID is still going on, and he’ll return in a couple of years once he can tour properly again?
Idk, I’m not buying into it but really I just want some reassurance that Drizzy’s not hanging up the headphones anytime soon
His feature game is undefeated. I know he got a couple hooks or verses tucked away to give out to upcoming rappers. Leftovers.
The dwindling reception is true, Laugh Now was probably expected to be much bigger

This is another reason I think it’d be weird if he tapped out on CLB assuming it drops this month. We know he’s got the joint with Drakeo coming in Feb so it’d be kinda weird if we got something so soon after an alleged goodbye project

"if you think that imma quit before I die, dream on"

Still in the top 10 I believe and did huge numbers out the gate, if any other song except WAP was on top of the charts at the time then he would’ve had another no.1 song with longevity and the narrative would be different in my opinion
Hope it is and he gets more actively involved in producing films/shows, his label and his clothing line tbh.
Last album? Modern day Black Album imo.
This the vibe I got from the teaser but I don’t want to believe it
i hadnt thought about it in that light. You could make a case for it

You know 2 words actually a Drake hater/troll right?

He got me hook, line and sinker in that case lol
He said in his rap radar interview that hes not retiring lmao

Yeah I mentioned that in the op. But bear in mind that interview was done before COVID really hit with force, and before the release of DLDT when some people started latching onto the narrative of his run coming to an end.
I don’t think he’ll retire but it’s an interesting discussion given these rumours imo, circumstances have changed with what’s happened in the world so it’s not totally unbelievable that he could’ve changed his mind.
Rumors started via DeuxMoi IG account op. Capitalxtra, Rosenberg, and the rest of the internet ran with it from there.
Drake is the least likely of “The Big 3” of this generation to retire first tbh lol. He may start taking longer breaks if anything but retire? Seems very unlikely, based off his own words and actions. He also sees the chatter about his reign, I think he takes stuff like that as a challenge.
The mans put out a project for 7 straight years. Do not be surprised to see him take a 4-5 year break.
But it won't be his last.

Thanks for clarifying, thought that was the case. Agree on him taking it as a challenge too
Maybe a Hov Black album “retirement” just so niggas appreciate him. If he does he’ll be back in 3-5 years. Expand his business portfolio, maybe get back to acting and star in his first major film (maybe a comedy with druski 🔥). Watch Adonis grow up and lock in for those formative years. By the time he came back he’d be missed like Hov was. When he returned he’d be right around 40. I honestly think Drake would make excellent mature rap albums. Maybe this is the next logical step
