Thats the great thing about the internet (that you keep referencing), is that it’s so much s*** that you can do that doesn’t even involve boots on the ground anymore
Arab spring literally was a thing.
I’ll give my life to a cause that will give my descendants a better life, as my ancestors did
It is the cycle of history and we can either be left to the sands of time with naught, or we can work towards a future that will be prosperous, even if our names will never be uttered again
That's the thing though, you'll never be sure. We both feel like we're enacting change the way we know how in hopes of leaving this a better place
That's the thing though, you'll never be sure. We both feel like we're enacting change the way we know how in hopes of leaving this a better place
I’d rather have hope in my heart than resignation to stagnancy
capitalism has been around for hundreds of years
black people were on the verge of liberation in the 50s-70s, precisely because of the militancy of multiple black nationalist and liberation groups who understood the importance of anti-imperialism and anti-capitalism. Not even getting into the broad coalition building between other progressive people’s movements, a real communist left, and the real threat of countries such as the USSR and PRC providing an alternative to how society could be constructed
It was the combined effort that forced the ruling class to enact concessions as well as eliminate the more radical elements of black people while allowing black liberal types to be integrated into the American political system.
@insertcoolnamehere has a point where the system has shown its flaws, its operating exactly as intended. It’s time for something new. All the talk and hand wringing (not you, in general) about all the factors we know the government is responsible for (crack epidemic, war on d****, COINTELPRO, etc etc) yet the only solution is to still wait and see and keep voting for the lesser evil until the right progressive candidate comes along and gets rid of the old racist boomers.
That’s not how struggles work
I'll ask you what I asked him, is there a modern government you would model America after? Or would what you envision require global change?
These last years have been so inspirational and it only furthers my drive to fight and provide, sometimes both hand in hand together
I'll ask you what I asked him, is there a modern government you would model America after? Or would what you envision require global change?
the same answers he said
im not sure how you can think America has the best government model on any level outside of consuming American propaganda
Even among its capitalist allies it is lagging behind in social services
Unless you are conflating “freedom of speech” (many, many, many countries have this in the world) and the ability to consume excessive mass media and consumer products as an “ideal system”
Nothing about America that you describe as “good” is unique to it, and there’s many countries that provide basic social necessities for their population and they aren’t even socialists
That's the thing though, you'll never be sure. We both feel like we're enacting change the way we know how in hopes of leaving this a better place
You talking just like the moderates MLK was cussing out my guy
If you can change and spark just one mind to look at s*** differently you’ve done a lot in the world.
Last year saw a historic number of strikes yall telling me s*** aint shifting?
What is one thing about America that is good that doesn’t involve spending money on consumer s*** or “muh freedom of speech” (again, not a uniquely American thing despite what CNN will tell you)
Owning guns?? Seriously answer me please

Strikes by unions, that conservatives would see to remove rights and powers?

Biden crushed many strikes in his time in office
Maybe the system is inherently flawed and not a matter of which bourgeois party holds the White House

I live in Sacramento and I'm not sure how many places in the world you would find America's largest afghan population, the largest Sikh population, hmong, Vietnamese, Mexicans, black people etc, be 90 minutes from the ocean and snow, and it's 50 degrees in January
And you dont gotta do violent s*** lol.
Somebody once said, “how yall talking about revolution when yall can’t even be good friends.”
Niggas do not talk to each other anymore. Covid exacerbated but even before that trademark American isolationism was having us f***ed up in the game.
There are problems for example that are unique to this country in part due to said isolation (e.g. mental illness)
The criminalization of homelessness stems similar from this. Take the worst cases or just assume all these ppl are just scum that have no chance of saving so just throw em away.
Imagine if empathy was valued

That’s not actually a result of America being progressive, large cities will have diverse populations anywhere because a labor pool is needed to extract from. We can go to any city and find higher demographic diversity than non urban areas
America writ large experiences this because it has a hold on the financial sector of many countries, so it is more economically stable for those who can afford to leave to migrate else out the global south. Usually their government is weak and not able to be strong and independent being tied down by IMF loans.
Or their country was ravaged by war and they fled and started anew.
Again, not unique to America and not even precisely for the good reasons you think.

Historic average 55.7 you know what I mean lol
Obviously Paris isn’t going to have a large black population as say Atlanta. But they have diverse demographics there compared to some rural towns in France I bet. The
It’s no different than you bringing up a large city in California.

You asked, that's what I could come up
Worlds largest exporter of entertainment as well

I stand corrected on that one my apologies.
That’s a pro of California not US imo.
