Agreed, his 2014 output was great musically. Hard 2 Love and Flawed (UR) coulda been two good albums for that era
The last 3 are on a youtube playlist titled Flawed
That rollout was set up perfectly for UR. Like AD3 said Good Kisser was the perfect rollout. Then She Came was a good 2nd single. Then I Don't Mind was a huge hit, even with no promo. Then he just scrapped it.
Then Flawed was announced, scrapped, and we got H2L.
I would have preferred to get UR in early 2015, it might have helped I Don't Mind go even higher. Then we get the next album this year.
They told us "soon" back in March 2019
This sounds fire
If this is the direction the album is in
I liked I cry a lot too
Usher might be back in full force

I hope so. I think he's just doing this album to have one more hit album/era under his belt.
I'm kinda confused cuz they were supposed to release this back in 2019, now it's getting close to 2021 lmao. Fans are still excited for it, so it shows he still has a big fanbase who will support
Usher really has a LOT to be proud of, especially as a black artist. One of the few black rnb artists to have that cross over appel and get called and treated like a real pop artist. He's lasted a real long time too, almost 30 years and still a front man in the industry.
This is the Usher thread right? I know theres already a thread for the new single but how is it not being talked about here lmao

Lol cuzz it’s mainly just myself and op going crazy over the single in the other thread
That edit was the magic touch man, it completely changed the tone of the song. I like how it was executed as well, it’s like something he wants to say but controls himself. It didn’t come off as just a simple cut out.

Agreed. And it's funny to think also that Zapp sample has been used like crazy they must be getting crazy royalties off that lol. But I'm glad it worked on this song.
Am I the only one who thinks 'Tell Me' is top 5 Usher bedroom anthem?
Man I love that song so much and was surprised when I first heard it I wasn't expecting a record that strong during that era. I hope he has at least another really strong br anthem for this new album

Seduction
Nice and Slow
Dive
Trading Places
Mars vs Venus
It comes close with Mars vs Venus but the other 4 it’s really hard to knock those off. With Seduction and Nice and Slow being indisputable.

I'd say yeah. It's one of his best songs not just the past decade, but in his whole discography.

Right. It didn't sound like it a lazy edit just to get sent to radio, which I appreciated. Looking at the comments everyone seems to love it. I think he finally found the perfect medium between the new stuff younging like and the traditional stuff his Day Ones want.
I wonder how long U9 is gonna be. Part of me wants him to keep it on the short side of about 12 songs with 2 or 3 interludes, but another part of me wants it to be longer like Confessions and Here I Stand just so I have more to enjoy. I do think it's gonna be another no skip from him tho. The JD/B Cox/Usher tri always deliver
