Love this energy , I’m done being nice myself the disrespect will end. Don’t wanna hear no king of r&b talk from any other artist besides Kellz.
Is there a way it can change?
He really deserves to be getting the Vanguard and Icon awards like JT, Beyonce, Britney get. He should be celebrated as a goat like they are, but he gets shelved way too often. His influence and impact is #1 out of all his peers. So why is there this disconnect?

I started when he crossed over with L4M, r&b purist and his older audience wants to control his narrative. Usher doesn’t have a marriage and children like Beyoncé, JT etc. So people look at Usher and his music as “immature” because he’s in his 40s. So people subconsciously think he’s just chasing younger trends when his actually just expressing himself on how his life is. You know, something a true artist should do.
Also the stuff that was brought out in the public slandering his name

I hate it. Like B Cox said, they have to work 5x harder for Usher to get that recognition.
The fact this is a discussion is an issue. I'm not asking for Usher to be treated like god lol, but people need to realize his impact, influence, longevity... he's outdone all his peers in almost every metric. So there really isn't an excuse for him to be treated like this

Yeah it pisses me off really. He has handled it well, he doesn’t come off bitter...he just continues to do his own thing. I’m really proud of him and I’m glad I chose him as my favorite.

Me too. He's not out complaining and is grateful for all his success. I also love how despite how the media treats him, the new generation of artists always talk about his influence and impact.
I also think people are waking up to it. Idky I just feel like more people are standing up for him now. I guess that just happens over time. A similar situation happened to Mariah the last decade tbh

There is a clip of Usher saying how pretty much every male r&b artist has reached out to him for guidance. From Party, Miguel, Trey....you name it he has impacted and guided them one way or the other. Wish I could remember the source, but that’s the reason why the new generation revere him so much. It was during the H2L era.
I'm relistening to L4M. Just started, but this is my fave album this past decade.
I never realized how good Can't Stop Won't Stop and Scream are. These are really good pop songs tbh.
Hard II Love is a really great album. So many awesome tracks, Need U, Let Me, Downtime, FWM should have been a hit. Tell Me is secretly my fav 2010s Usher track.
I forgot how much I loved from L4M. CSWS is probably my fave pop song from him. Climax is amazing as always. I Care For U, Looking 4 Myself, Lemme See, Twisted, Sins of My Father, Say The Words all gems. My fave is What Happened To U.
He really doesn't have a bad album.

I'm still surprised Rivals never caught on cuz Future was on a run that year.
I also don't like how Usher didn't care. I know he's been in the game for forever, but he dropped it then never came back to it. That era was over in like months lol

L4M is really good, that’s another reason why I hated when people turned on him when he crossed over.

Missin U and Bump crazy too
I wonder how long U9 is gonna be. Part of me wants him to keep it on the short side of about 12 songs with 2 or 3 interludes, but another part of me wants it to be longer like Confessions and Here I Stand just so I have more to enjoy. I do think it's gonna be another no skip from him tho. The JD/B Cox/Usher tri always deliver
I think 12 is perfect, or hell maybe even 14 if he can keep the quality there.
That's one thing I like about Bruno Mars admittedly is that his 2 albums are only 10 and 9 tracks long, focusing on quality for each song instead of quantity. I think it's better when artists go that route

L4M is his best album this past decade. I wish he did that Euphoria Tour instead of the Voice and pushed the singles a little bit more cuz L4M could have been as big as RvR was. But there he goes not promoting his music lol

Thank you. Kellz is my favorite ever and in my opinion is the only person who has the edge over Usher.
Admittedly though looking at this thread Usher has better numbers and awards than Kells which I wasnt aware of but that's tight though more power to him.

Yeah. I think Usher did well with the longer albums as Confessions and Here I Stand are amazing, but RvR was the same length as those too and had a few too many skips.
I don't want it shorter than 12 cuz I'd hate to wait 3 years of teasing for like 9 tracks
Unless he's in a Confessions type run, 15 should be the limit, with an additional 2 interludes. I really hope JD did his thing and can provide some TEOM level magic cuz that was the PERFECT comeback for Mariah. If they're in there flow like they were before, they're unstoppable.

My favorite Usher album. Very unpopular opinion I know ha

And I thought I'd get crucified for thinking Here I Stand is his best album

Well with Kellz he’s not gonna win any awards for obvious reasons. To me awards don’t mean much or hold much value.

Now this an interesting take

I just wanna ask, how did H2L become your favorite?
