I’m not tryna disrespect but I totally get it

In the grand scheme of music, usher seems like an insane pick. He has the hits but no one under 25 is even aware of his existence lol. The star power compared to people like Rihanna and The Weeknd and what you’d expect for a Super Bowl isn’t there

I can understand. I believe that when Usher took a long ass break between Confessions to Here I Stand. Everybody moved on from Usher to JT, Breezy, and other R&B artists at the time that it made it hard for Usher to comeback strong, then factoring his marriage and him growing up played a huge influence on Here I Stand hurt his momentum.

By 2010-12, he tried to gain back those fans, but it was too late, because the focus was just on CB, but more importantly Drake now. Plus his albums got worse since then

Regardless, Usher is legendary, it's sad to see him get this disrespect.

    bro do you go outside??

his s*** still rings out in clubs everywhere, like y’all either got to be 15 or straight up trolling

They know the songs of course but I honestly don’t think anyone under age 25 knows the songs are by usher, unless they’re from Atlanta maybe

He fumbled his legacy in a historic way. I’m not just saying s***, people are responding to this with “who?”

Real, he is a legend I love his music, I’m sure this little bit of disrespect won’t mean much in the long run, he’s going to have a platform to show his greatness again so maybe this will help restore his legacy

Man I refused to let that happen. I'm finna blast Usher and JT til I die at a old age.

I don't have to worry about MJ, because he's too impactful, it's hard for niggas to erase him

The average age of people who watch the Superbowl is in their 40s.

Does that average really matter? Half of the audience is still going to be like “who?”

I think the reason it’s surprising is because the last few performers weren’t catering to old folks. They’ve been going with people who are still relevant until this

The album with the statue of his face and the herpes era changed his legacy a lot, no bs. I don’t think the general public even knows who Usher is at this point, he fell off. This is extremely niche for the super bowl

What are you waffling on about, the public probably knows less about what you said. Everyone knows and loves Ushers music, that’s it. It’s why he’s been on a sold out Vegas residency since April that’s been extended till December. This performance just makes sense
