Imagine absolutely needing Spider-Man and Venom to cross paths (they will) when there’s so much they can do like explore Klyntar and Knull and the dozens of other symbiotes
Like Knull existed BEFORE the Celestials
Mf was just waiting in space until the Celestials came about and created the universe
hey look i kinda called it

Seeing tomorrow night
The Last Dance is a satisfying conclusion to an oddly lovable trilogy. The best thing about these films are Tom Hardy’s performance as Eddie and Venom, and this one is the peak of the performance. It fires on all cylinders to close the book on this character (for now).
This isn’t a great movie but dammit it’s a fun time. Every time the focus is on Eddie and Venom the movie is turned up a notch. Their relationship has been so well defined up to this point all you want to do is go along with them for the ride. Other parts of the film work, but not as well, and the script is uneven. Plot holes are abound but honestly they didn’t bother me.
The third act of this one might be the best third act of the trilogy. It brings the movie to a satisfying, albeit kind of somber end that actually had me feeling something.
These movies are a weird anomaly to me because while their mere existence means we haven’t gotten a true Venom/Spider-Man story in the last twenty years, I’m still glad they exist. Their existence allowed the Venom side of the Marvel Universe to expand in the comics and so much cool s*** has come from that. One of those creations being Knull, the big bad of the film. His presence is felt, it is menacing, but it’s definitely set up for the future. Which is odd, because you would think Knull would be the overarching villain of a Venom trilogy and not something that is set up in the concluding chapter.
What can I say, the Venom movies charm me in a way. They’re fun and The Last Dance truly might be the best of the bunch. Tom Hardy is clearly dedicated to these films and the character and it shows. The result is a fun set of films that just get a kick out of me.
Critically speaking this is a 3/5
The Venom fan in me gives this a 4/5
On some nerdy s*** now
Lol where the f\*\*\* are they gonna take Knull from here. Like I get pieces of Venom survive but this feels definitive in a sense that there won’t be anymore Venom movies. And the first post credits scene tees up more Knull. But in the SSU? Where the only other notable characters are Kraven, Madame Web, and Morbius? Get the f\*\*\* outta here lmao. If I had to guess, Spidey 4’s mid credit will set up the symbiote finding Peter, then he dies and is revived by the Symbiote in Doomsday. Wears it for Secret Wars, Tom Hardy is found on Battleworld, bonds with Venom again and that’s how we get Venom with the spider emblem. Then Spidey 5 in the new universe would be a King in Black adaptation. Also, Sony, please don’t get any f\*\*\*ing ideas and make an Agony spinoff. It worked for the moment in the film and that’s it.

I saw a dope theory that kinda ties into yours where Peter dies while tied to the Venom symbiote creating a new codex, drawing Knull’s attention to their universe.

You mentioned the first post credit scene, what’s the second? I’m not watching this so spoil it for me please

The SSU version of the bartender at the end of No Way Home got captured by the military at the beginning of the movie. The second scene shows him escaping Area 51 after it’s been destroyed. At the very end shows a broken vial with a cockroach next to it. That vial was the one that Chiwatel’s character used to capture a small piece of the Venom symbiote after Venom left the bar in the SSU. This hints at the fact that some of Venom is still out there since during the third act, Venom sacrifices himself to kill all the Xenophages and save Eddie
Also, this isn’t a spoiler but I found it so weird that they went and reshot the No Way Home mid credit scene and used it as the opening scene. Like why reshoot it?

Wasn’t that vile the one Agony was in?… cause it flashed electricity

Ah you know what, you might be right
Could be either tho
Better than 2, worse than 1. Some fun parts but overall messy (specially the plot) and full of dumb exposition.
