I mean they have a 10 year deadline and the hive already knows there's a way to reverse everyone. I think it makes more sense to spend time pursuing that avenue than a robotic farming ecosystem that would take a chunk of time researching and implementing

I think the right solution differs based off the results both sides wants, I guess carol problem is that she cant see why the other side wants what they want

You can build robots now and find the cure later. She’s not thinking but her character is all emotion and personal salvation, so I understand her rationale

Like when she was so disappointed that wasn’t included in the Zoom calls because she doesn’t understand diplomacy

But I like how it isn’t being painted as she’s right and they’re wrong. No one is right or wrong, she just isn’t hearing them out

Let’s say the hive goes with the cure . The idea that humanity goes back to “ normal “ wouldn’t solve anything and the signal that came from space goes to something . It’s why he got something on that radio signal . Who wanted to unite humanity ? Was it so they die off in 10 years or would humanity die out sooner if they didn’t unite

I think people are missing they are all of humanity united . May help if it was shown from their perspective or something but unless that’s their one lie they enjoy being united it’s bliss . They no longer desire to be individuals because it’s pain and lonely.

It’s gearing up for a horrible reveal, like the hive is inherently dangerous, similar to the Futurama episode The Beast with a Billion Backs

I hear you and I think you’re thinking clearly. I just think it’d take them (diplomacy, building, maintenance) 7 days max to get this done and get the starvation window extinct. And that’s something that would benefit everyone come curing the joining
Then we can get to desynchronisation or epigenetic reversal

She needs a real plan. I don’t have all the answers but it’s clear they’re all aiming for survival, I agree

The cure is probably itself part-psychological and that’s why tempered emotion plays a part of it. If it is an adaptive response to resource scarcity, then it makes more sense to focus on food

Carol is like a single minded propagandist so I really liked the Paraguayan guy receiving her message as such

You are missing that she and one other person are the only ones who desire a cure . They are the only people not being talked to . It isn’t about whether the cure is better or worse because since they are the minority . They are the ones who are viewed as needing “ curing “ . Two people out of all of humanity are the last that desire the old world . If one of the two gets mad she leads to mass death. If Carol is added to hive there would be 0 risk of death from anger and all focused on goal rather than appeasing her in any way or being judged by her

I’m not saying I agree with it in our reality I’m saying in their reality it entire makes sense

Yeah I agree they're on the outlier in terms of their position, which is a cure isnt a viable solution to end global starvation to the other group
