If that car makes it that entire distance that will be the most unrealistic thing to happen in the show
They showed him grabbing the can of gas. Therefore the character knows that he’s doing and the writers knew to show us that. Think harder.
I think it's ok to admit that the show is very slow but also this is the typical pacing for any Vince Gilligan show
I think people are missing they are all of humanity united . May help if it was shown from their perspective or something but unless that’s their one lie they enjoy being united it’s bliss . They no longer desire to be individuals because it’s pain and lonely.
The most interesting thing to me is is what the end point is. If you are all of humanity united, why would you need so many individuals, won’t they just reduce to a number that’s enough to sustain the species? Surely that’s not more than a couple million.

I thought this too and reasoned they wanted to maximise cognitive capacity and biological efficiency isn’t their goal. So people are just ecological nodes in a global brain
But then it’s shown they keep data from dead people…
Shrink the numbers 🗣️

It’s Paraguay to alberquere in a beater lol

I mean they probably had much less time than 10 years til Carol killed them with anger . Realistically they would want to get her angry . So they have less vessels to feed with the same amount of knowledge.
Pacing isn’t necessarily slow so much as we are used to more characters on screen . We are used to background characters talking . Vibrant worlds . It feels slower because the world is empty and there are only 13 possible humans with free will and most episodes we only see max 3 of them but at lowest 1 of them
I think it’s fair for people to not be used to an apocalypse show this empty . Reminds me of y the last man but it’s less humans than that .
It’s definitely not for everyone. Some will have it as their show of the year others will feel blah about it and that is okay . They aren’t dumb because they want more human contact or world building in a show

...it's actually way more The Omega Man in that aspect
and the next episode confirms it

Tbh
I’m all against Netflix slop, and Tik Tok/reels are scum of the earth. But the whole thing of pretentious people trying to think of 20 different clever ways of saying other people are dumb for not liking what they like is stupid. This show might not be for them, and that’s ok.
That being said, I think that the people who are dissatisfied rn do need to be a bit more patient, because I would be super surprised if Vince doesn’t make the plot come into focus and feel satisfying by the end of the season

They called breaking bad season 1 slow to many. He is setting up the world . I love Rhea seahorn she is doing a great job I just want to see a day in life of all remaining humans . I get that it makes sense for us to feel lonely with her

Fr. I'm enjoying it but how you not gonna call this slow? I trust in Gillighan, curious to see where all the worldbuilding will go!
She's posting like Carol
F***ing ads on your fridge, man. Suits need to die
True. Except for the unlikable argument (I don’t find her in the least bit unlikable) and the pacing argument (I don’t think it’s even slow paced)
I genuinely think the show thinks she's unlikeable, it's kind of implied with her interactions with the survivors, or lack thereof.
It doesn't necessarily mean she's an unreasonable character she just comes across as unlikeable a lot of the time.
Just as an aside I saw someone explain why Skylar was unlikeable for example, it wasn't so much that she was unreasonable or anything of that sort, it was more a lot of her actions were to shout down the protagonist's calls for adventure.

I don’t think it’s that slow but I also don’t think slow is a bad thing if interesting s*** is happening.
Those movies where a character is just watching which way the river flows for 5 minutes in complete silence is the s*** that bores me
