PlatinumI think I've accepted that this show just isnt that good. Nothing terrible and the recent episode was OK, but the direction theyve taken this story in, is just not interesting to me.
Part of why I don't care much for the story now is because I think how things currently are is a good way for the world to continue, and so it can like this and end. There are also no mysteries I feel I need to learn now or sub plots that I feel I need the answer to. Realistically an author and Manousos are not really people with the skillset to save the world (tbf I dont know what Manousos' skills are).
As someone else said the world is filled with NPCs, including the other non-hive humans. And then Manousos has had little character development and Carol is not likeable.
I'll still be watching the finale

I mean I think part of it is also we all consume each other through many means financially emotionally physically and spiritually whether literal eating or capitalism

My view on it is that it’s…interesting and has some good ideas and lots of untapped potential
It’s nowhere near PEAK tho in my eyes and I won’t be dying for it to come back the next few years
Yeah I like it but this a 1 watch classic

Also there are 2 humans that arent happy with how things are. Everyone else is pretty happy. Compare that to before where there were many more people unhappy. If humans did return back to there usual selves then there would be absolute choas in the world with like half the population already dead and political tensions would increase massively, likely leading to wars.
Add to that Carol isn't particularly likeable, shes just OK, so im not massively rooting for her to win. Im a bit ambivalent

I don't think Zosia has feelings for Carol. I think, like Carol herself mentioned, they Others are simply trying to make Carol happy by doing what they know best — giving her everything they think she wants and getting her comfortable so she eventually abandons her mission to change the world back to how it was before (and maybe even hopefully join them as well). Carol asking for them to come back was the extension of the olive branch they needed to feel safe and comfortable enough to be around Carol again and its not surprising that the person they brought right back to Carol's doorstep was Zosia.
I also thought it was notable that when Carol asked Zosia what her favorite meal was, Zosia was able to temporarily tap into her own personal memories for a happy memory that dated back to her childhood. I don't know what that'll go on to mean, but my guess is that it'll probably end up being one of the ways (if not the way) humanity can break away from the hold/influence of the Others.
I'm very excited for episode 9 but I don't think Carol's feelings for Zosia are surface-level. I think she's come to deeply care about (I mean, since Zosia kissed her, they've been shacking up together and Carol is back writing again — for real this time). I think Carol will still carry on her mission to get the world back to the way it was but she'll shift her sights into trying to free Zosia first.

But the only thing she knows about zoisia the human being is she likes mango ice cream . So it’s tough to say whether she loves her or she just being manipulated but all the knowledge of all of them including Helen . She can’t ever talk to Helen again but the hive has essentially uploaded Helen personality into zoisia then added in the brain of Carols biggest fans of her work . Carol never cared about the books like that besides it making Carol happy and making them money

Both characters made love in the series. We can sit here all day and debate the ethics around that, considering the fact that basically everyone in the world isn't in control of their own actions anymore, no thanks to the Others taking over, but Zosia (yes, as part of the Joining) did kiss Carol. Carol didn't initiate it or even ask for it. Zosia kissed Carol and Carol (who had lost her long-time partner, had witnessed the world get taken over by the Others and had then been abandoned for over a month, was longing for affection and human connection) kissed her back and then they had sex.
I think the Others are simply doing whatever they can to keep Carol happy.
That's why they rebuilt her favorite restaurant and brought back her favorite waitress — they initially thought that'd be what would do the trick. You could see Zosia being confused about why Carol was upset when she abruptly left the restaurant.
It wasn't until Carol confirmed that she liked Zosia that Zosia (as part of the Others) kissed Carol (as a way to see if that would make her happy). Carol kissed her back, they made love and have been shacking up together ever since.
