I can understand that I will say the mellow beats on S/T allowed for his lyrics to be at the forefront this time around while on BFT and S06 it was more about how every detail was intentionally put together to deliver a certain atmosphere or idea
I guess but to me someone who really didn’t like the beats at all it just left me with nothing
Especially since I’ve always paid heavy attention to Vince’s lyrics, i think a lot of mfs never listened to vinces lyrics before self titled
smd
kiss me
Ironically this reminds me of how blank face was received and how that effected the way Q approached his next album
Bruh that annoyed me too I said the same thing about crash talk
It just bothers me more w Vince bc Im a way bigger Vince fan than Q
Bro, i know him irl he would beat yo ass
WIP knows what time it is

Oh nah I completely agree with that it was obvious he wanted lyrics to be the primary focus on self titled but I feel like more adventurous beats actually forces him to do more performance wise which enhances his lyrics
this gonna be a classic

It pissed me off with Q because his reasoning was hypocritical he basically said he didn’t want to make more forward thinking art because only the critics were rocking with it and not coming to shows but the album where he toned it down and make obvious to appeal to a broader audience it actually performed worse in sales than blank face and got lukewarm reception
I think Danny perfectly executed the toned down album after the most experimental without sacrificing what’s integral to your music as a whole with uknowhatimsayin?
Because he still had the true essence of what a Kendrick album is he just went in a more pop/accessible direction but he didn’t really dilute his character him and Danny brown executed that idea perfectly
Where tf is Denzel curry?
I know that’s random but I feel like it’s been awhile since we actually got an album from him
The unlocked beats lowkey were better than the S/T ones if we on the topic of Kenny beats production outside of law of averages

good thing Vince is miles better than Denzel so this doesn’t matter

This might be true but Denzel last 2 projects were better than Vince last 2 if I’m being completely honest
Zuu> FM! Lowkey similar in concept as well
Unlocked> Vince staples
