listening to kanye's mumble demos makes me care less about his lack of lyric writing, because i find it more impressive that he manages to come up with all these flows, rhyme schemes, and melodies by himself. it doesn't really bother me that he's not always filling in all the lines himself, he's still a really talented songwriter (even during his diminished post-TLOP years).

V2 isn’t groundbreaking by any means but it’s still a collection of nice records which is pretty impressive for a guy just before his 50s.

I think the only way for Kanye to make an album as remarkable and relevant as basically everything he’s put out before 2018 is to go back to the sample-based, mellow, melodic songwriting and to keep it cohesive 10 song finished product. So no drill, no trap (maybe just trap drums), no club bangers, just soul and soft rock samples, some nice synths, sprinkle it with auto tune here and there and put some effort into the mixes.
