Yea some of the lyrics aren’t that deep but you can FEEL the chaotic energy in that album

This album makes you feel absolutely nothing

We'll agree to disagree. Ye is mostly awful imo. But yeah this one sets a new low

Violent Crimes is just a weird and disgusting way to present a discussion on being worried about your daughter growing up. Lyrical disaster.

I think it is an accurate reflection of how men really think of the situation which why it connects with the audience but fair enough each to their own

Because in Ye’s case it’s just pure laziness and not even him rapping it, he’s taking a reference someone else made for him and just throwing AI on it. Like that s*** is inexcusable imo

i edited my post for clarity, but i'm pretty sure we're on the same page.

like i acknowledge a lot of people don't mind if artists use ghostwriters (even if i have diff thoughts)... my question is basically just like, why choose to draw a line there, on this spectrum of authenticity or whatever you want to call it

I think because of the way music connects to the listener people want it to come from a human being. They want to hear the human display their talent. Sometimes the imperfections of the performance is what makes it perfect.

I suppose knowing too if the artist sings the ghost reference they must believe in the record on some level.

You bring up a good question tho. I think humans will always want humans

I'd rather work for a Stories You Tell in The Dark style cryptid than post-2021 Kanye

I feel like most of us think he’s gotten help writing throughout his career, but it’s way more now than what it used to be pre-mbdtf

Rhymefest helped write Jesus Walks so it had to be even before College Dropout but I do think he wrote a lot more until around My Twisted Fantasy

I also think Ye still comes up with flows and uses writers primarily to fill in lyrics

While occasionally taking a whole ass verse

I think we all knew he had help on some songs. Gorgeous is one his best lyrical work and I always had the impression he didn’t write it. Since I always saw Ye as an artist and not a rapper I never really cared. When he finally publicly stated that he doesn’t write and Pardi(?) wrote violent crimes It was still alright. Now, he doesn’t make the beat, doesn’t write and NOW doesn’t even rap (AI), that’s a bit weird.

My question now is, if we managed to get the “old Kanye” back via AI through Kanye himself, will the people be more welcoming to the AI idea?
