at the end of the day they are entitled to do what they want but i do wish they still did interviews bc i like to hear them expand on their process
Maybe if the media asked better, more engaging, questions then they would still do them
Did you ever think about that, fat man?
The only ones that benefit from them nowadays are the interviewers, no one trying to go to breakfast club or hot 97 no more s*** doesn’t boost sales in the streaming era

It does suck that a lot of rappers will only do interviews with major white publications once they reach a certain level of success

They would if they stepped more into the streaming lane.
Like it’s beyond me why hot 97 doesn’t have a weekly streaming playlist on the different platforms that also markets their podcasts and stuff.
If these radio shows/podcasts want to survive and thrive then they need to start pushing their content more on streaming platforms.
Interviews with rap outlets:
"What do you think about Gunna snitching"
"Do you have beef with this rapper"
"What did you mean when you sneak dissed another dude on this song"
Interviews seem like a dated concept outside of print media
Video interviews is where it’s at. People more than ever wanna see their fav celebs personality and if u have a talented interviewer, they can bring that out

A lot of hiphop media is kinda trash ngl
Lowkey there's needs to be some new energy in the scene
Not really related but I say this every chance I get, if anybody wants amazing interviews, check out B High. Best interviewer hip hop has at the moment

Really irks me how majority of the questions relate to matters along those lines, like why couldn’t it be more about the music itself? I don’t even care for any of this celebrity gossip

Hot 97 has its own platform and an app that's been around for a decade. And they do weekly playlists
