Idk why they're even talking about bringing it back in early 2024 Game was already dead by the beginning of this year, just move on

people bought the dlc or content so they cant really just move on cause I think they would get sued for that

People paid money at launch for "Founders Packs" and they got things like tokens to unlock characters. The most expensive bundle ($100 ) got you 30 character tokens, which was enough to unlock all the characters at launch + 14 additional characters. I don't think they added even 10 additional characters, but I'm not sure if that's grounds for litigation since developers didn't really guarantee purchasers a number of characters, just currency to buy characters (which is ultimately useless because they didn't drop enough characters)
Either way, people dropping $100 on a FTP Smash Bros clone are suckers and there's no way they actually make the changes necessary to redeem this game when it relaunches next year. It will probably be largely the same game with those additional characters to prevent legal action. So they'll potentially get people's hopes up, drop the same game and disappoint people all over again
If online works, and the game is legit fun, I don’t see it DOA like Nickelodeon.
This already has a level of polish that Nick didn’t have, and it’s full of recognizable characters that have wider audiences then just cartoons
Well, I was kinda right
Online did work (until it didn’t) and the game did have a plethora of iconic characters (but then they blew their load wayyy too quickly) and it was legit fun (until the game was pretty much figured out in the first couple months because the overall system mechanics were just that stale, and despite people begging for changes and overhauls, people just got sold on more micro transactions)

Well yeah but since everyone thought they launched the game then they just said that was a beta or early access its a rough spot to be in when you sold 100$ dlc to people that thought a full game was coming or that they were playing a full game.
Redfall, Saints Row flopped but they both sold season pass or dlc so they can't just be like "we out"
Back 4 blood, Forspoken was similar situation. Once you sell DLC or season pass you can't just cancel or thats a complicated refund process for them. Terrible look and as much as they want to move on they would be burning the fanbase that would likely be the first to buy or support their next product.
Same as although Overwatch 2 came out with the promise of the coop mode they can't just be like "yeah we taking down the servers we out " . That is the thing about games as service or free to play you kind of owe your fanbase something to some degree because they been with you. This communication has been terrible
this game was fun for a week lol sad
How is this different compared to Smash?
Did Smash drop content at a faster rate?

I don't play these types of games often, but can someone tell me the difference between these games and smash?
Does smash have way more content than these games?

Smash has much more content spread across single player and multiplayer modes. There’s also more depth in its mechanics/tech, allowing for more dynamic play across the cast. Multiversus had iconic characters too, but the game’s overall gameplay wasn’t sound enough, so everyone kinda played the same

The gameplay was lackluster compared to Smash. You only had 2 attack buttons and did moves by pressing a direction + attack. So each character had like 8 moves. There was no block button, you evaded moves by dodging them. The weight/movement is also floaty compared to Smash
Content was also a problem though, which can make or break a F2P game. The game launched in July 2022 and only dropped 6 additional characters in the 6 months it was active. Most of them were broken when they dropped and required balancing tweaks. At one point, they just removed Morty from the game completely to fix him
Does Invincible have a chance of starring in this game or is the IP he’s from too violent & gore-y?

They have GoT characters in there so why not
Never got to play this. Was it actually good? Is it a blatant smash clone or did it try to do its own thing?

Oh damn I had no idea (in other words I barely know anything about this game lol, including the roster)
Since it’s free-to-play, won’t hurt to dive in and see how the game is for myself
Crazy how folks were dooming and glooming this game just cus they decided to end the beta and work diligently on delivering a more finished product
But if you’ve actually paid for it then I understand where the frustration could come from

You had to be there to see the s*** storm that was going on with this game
They dropped like 6 new characters in total until they pulled the game. Went a few months without a new character towards the end. Balance was an issue with pretty much every character they added, they had to remove Morty completely for a while because he was so broken. Events/Battle pass was unrealistic and basically forced you to pay to unlock what you wanted to. Matchmaking and connectivity was ass. Not a big player base, I played it like everyday for the daily challenges while I was unemployed. Would fight the same niggas over and over
They just removed the game completely and no new players could download it. Existing players can only play offline until the game drops again. It's rare that something like this happens, only other instance I can think of was Cyberpunk. It really was doom and gloom

Goddamn
Appreciate the detailed explanation
At least it seems they’ll be receptive to community feedback, and they won’t let broken s*** go unchecked (ahem Steve in Smash Ultimate).

It’s wild too cause the combat was actually really fun, they just dropped the ball with content and updates
