we gettin the movie theaters back

  • Dec 8, 2020

I wonder what might happen if they were to hold tight

Like the fear was before it could trigger a chain reaction which would actually be damaging. Are they really gonna be the only studio doing this as everyone else tries theater releases?

I understand it being unpopular for the DGA but what happens when others try it

Ngl I think WB might alter this or walk it back

It's not looking good for them

I totally get both sides of the argument.

Studios need to get these films out

Directors want people to see them in theatres

Actors agreed on deals that included incentives with box office tickets

    It's a pretty s***ty situation for everyone

On Warner's part not telling senior partners 90 before the announcement is f***ing nuts

this is interesting as most of these movies will now have more ppl watching them but at the same times the creators of these movies will not make as much money, if anything Warner needs to pay them for the amounts of streams they get or something because this kinda crazy now lol

That’s the weird thing about movie streaming. Not even Warner will be making money off of this despite more people potentially watching the lesser known films

It’s so different than music where the industry is actually making mad bank. Warner pretty much committed to losses on all films so they can up their subscribers. Woulda still lost money cus no ones going to theaters but still

Disney should do the same and give us Black Widow earlier.

These rich motherfuckers at home telling people to go to the movies in the middle of a pandemic that is still out of control. And some people still agree with them lol.

Jfc. Anyone who thinks this is what Nolan is saying is an idiot.

The guy is saying that theaters should get first priority. He's not telling you to go watch it at all costs, he wants the availability to be there for people that want to go. It helps local theaters and keeps them open too, even if they're struggling.

This model literally screws over everyone in the industry that isn't a consumer or the highest-ups.
