It all depends. Obviously it is terrible what is going on in some of their countries and even more so in China. As for the people here there is just some things I cant really tolerate cause their behavior just conflict with my believes.

For example a girl in my class was engaged in 8th grade and wanted to have instagram. Her family only allowed it when her account was supervised by her future husband. She got married the moment she turned 18 and was legally allowed to do so. That is women’s rights for yall

how ya'll even find out about the outside world before the internet, we was literally in a bubble in my hood

Even as a child prior to me learning why general bigotry is bad I never bought into all that homophobia/xenophobia s*** they push heavily in the south because I just never saw any justifiable reason for it

Interesting! Same here. Was it weird going back to church a year ago, did it make you uncomfortable at all or was it pretty chill?

One time a girl tricked me into going to church with her & her parents on a Sunday, should’ve known when she asked me to dress nice that morning

Islamophobia is definitely widespread in the US tho. Since I’m black no one can really tell I’m a Muslim until I tell them, but other Muslims I know have gone through it in this country.

Blame her parents for this, not the Quran. Nowhere in the Quran is something like this taught or required.

this is a result of her parents weirdly overt traditionalism/conservatism, not any islamic teachings

back when i was teaching one of my students invited me and it’s a japanese church so i just wanted to see it plus they promised food...

honestly, it was a really nice experience so warm but some of them were a bit too christian...creationist levels lel that’s the only part i felt uncomfortable about but yeah it was chill

doing bible studies I learnt, the bible and the quran are extremely similar actually.
you can cherrypick verses from the old testament as well, that wouldn't fly by modern western moral standards.

Yeah the two books are very similar. Muslims believe the Bible used to be the word of God at some point but it got corrupted by humans, and that the Quran is the final word of God that will never be changed or corrupted, which is true so far.

I’m not an islamophobe but I don’t agree with a lot of the extremists that oppress & subject women to torture

I’m not sure if that has anything to do with the religion of Islam or conservative culture in the Middle East
