Y’all need to stop treating weeknd as your underground hipster ass artist.

Even my mom, a 50 year brazillian lady, knows him smh

    nah but it's painfully mediocre

  • Dude did his own preemptive avi post

  • He’s had plenty of big hits

Starboy & Cant feel my face were playing everywhere.

At this point i expect every album to have atleast 1 super pop hit. Its not like he got lucky.

For the older crowd, yeah. But for everyone else I don't think so; don't forget the success of CFMF, the Hills, Starboy, I feel It coming, etc. The Weekend has had high exposure the last 5 years so I still think he's bigger than the song

  • Nov 28, 2020

Starboy era was huge that'll never be forgotten

  • Nov 28, 2020

Weeknd has been a household name ever since h**** 40 year-old housewives went to see fifty shades of grey

BBTM had 3 songs of it that were top 3 on hot 100 no bundles and little streaming

All I know is that boring ass elevator/waiting room song overshadowed his entire album and there was like 3 other songs that deserved its success.

Also the fact it’s his career defining hit is gross

    Real as f*** tbh

True, I've always felt like Drake's Laugh Now Cry Later would have been so much bigger if not for Covid

Song was made for the summer/ the club

I know it's done super well on the charts but I don't think it's that big of a hit. It's hard to explain it.

Just doesn't feel as big as a Uptown Funk or even Old Town Road.

    Probably wrong

    Yeah this is probably why.

Not at all. The Hills, CFMF, and Starboy felt huge and were heard all over the radio. Hell, even that song he did for the Black Panther Soundtrack felt pretty huge.

Weeknd has too many iconic hits for a song to be bigger than him.

It's like asking if Hotline Bling is bigger than Drake due to how many times that song has been memed and remixed.
