I just can't help but think that even if it was just DaBaby and not Manson as well this would've gone so much less terribly.

Obviously best case scenario would be neither but it's Kanye

Objectively a terrible move and not even a good way to make the statement he wanted to make. But the rollout was going way too smoothly, some s*** like this was inevitable. Plus it's Kanye and he could give a f*** what we think is a good or bad move

bit of a stretch to say rollout was smooth but point taken

Lol yeah, "too smoothly" was still a f***ing rollercoaster but there wasn't an impossible to ignore scandal until Manson's b**** ass

Yea especially since DaBaby is only guilty of saying a distasteful joke but Marilyn potentially tortured/raped people

Exactly, it genuinely could've been a really poignant statement about compassion and forgiveness but conflating him with Manson like their crimes were equal is just so outlandishly stupid

  • Sep 1, 2021

And they blame it on Marilyn and the heroin

completely overshadowed the music for the dumb critics, even they were hyped after LP2

  • Sep 1, 2021

Lowkey enjoy his vocals on it. Doesn’t really add much to it but

    Idgaf about the backlash either

    Yeah.

None of these contrarian moves are worth it. Just like Trump co-sign.

Ppl will literally s*** on everything Ye does because of it.

Then those same lame ppl won’t even mention him in 5 years, meanwhile that stain remains on his legacy forever. If you think that trade off is beneficial than you gotta be the most delusional Stan ever.

Just put out great art/product and ppl will love it, it’s simple. Hence the reception at the first 2 listening parties

    Mr Bojangles

Of course it was a bad move. MM didn't really add much to the song, either.

    But Kanye gonna Kanye.

    Literally adding nothing

just an absolutely horrendous move when you look at it, bro did 30 seconds of background vocals on a bonus track and is the reason the entire album has been flamed by critics

the headlines generated were NOT worth it in the slightest
